ultimate casino winner - win

Brooo WSB is way better than Occupy for class consciousness!1!

Anyway in reality: https://www.reddit.com/wallstreetbets/comments/l7ixaz/we_cant_let_wsb_get_political_no_matter_what/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, they are not participating in this casino heist.
You look r_tarded when you point at a subreddit that embodies the "temporarily embarrased billionaire" mindset and start talking about how it's good for socialism.
You know who is gonna come out winning? By and large, it won't be people who lost their homes and life savings in 2008. It will be upper-class millenials (le despised PMCs) and even bigger bois like Blackrock. And every winner is gonna come out loving capitalism bc "it worked for me!"
Meanwhile there's gonna be a ton of losers after the squeeze (not just these middle-sized hedge funds), encouraged by thought-terminating slogans and promises of a get-rich-quick scheme that can't fail. Will they be helpful for socialism? Maybe, or maybe they're just gambling addicts.
Schadenfreude is great, but we've already seen how the ruling class will never let you beat them at their own game. More people playing their game does not hurt them in the long run, it just validates the game. And ultimately they make all the rules.

Fantasy Booking AEW All Out 2021

The Buy In
I Casino Ladder Match, Winner Becomes Number One Contender: Big Swole vs Thunder Rosa vs Rosemary vs Abadon vs Hikaru Shida vs Penelope Ford vs Nyla Rose vs Allysin Kay
Winner: Nyla Rose ( notable spots include a confrontation between Rosemary and Abadon, Ford diving on top of everyone and Nyla powerbombing Swole through a ladder for the win. Post ppv, Nyla and Swole can begin a feud off of this injury angle. )

II Private Party vs Matt Hardy and mystery partner ( Private Party are face again and turn on Matt Hardy, abandoning his cheating ways. To teach them a lesson, Matt makes a challenge for All Out, with a mystery partner being teased. The partner turns out to be Bully Ray! )
Winners: Private Party ( With the youngsters kicking out from both the Bully Bomb and Twist of Fate, the tag legends get frustrated and introduce a table. Referee pleads for them not to do it, but PP takes advantage, and hit the Gin and Juice to Bully through the table to get the win! Chose Bully for this spot as he is not a full time roster member and is likely to sell it better than Matt. )

The Main Show
III Darby Allin (c) vs PAC vs Lance Archer, TNT Title ( Darby, having fend off the entire Team Taz , a dream match with Sting, and even a heel turn from Cody, now faces two massive challengers. Lance Archer, now a babyface, has been on a tear for months and has found a strange respect for Darby. PAC has been connected to Archer for the entire year, with them only getting physical a few weeks before the show, with Archer getting the win...barely. Now, we are set for a three way for the TNT title between these three eccentric faces. )
Winner: PAC ( Just as Darby hits a Coffin Drop on Archer, PAC flies out of nowhere with a Black Arrow on Darby, before locking in the Brutalizer on him afterwards. Darby never taps, but he does pass out, blood coming out of his mouth, PAC is the new champion!! )

IV MJF vs Eddie Kingston ( A very personal feud that writes itself. Rich kid against a thug from the streets, a pompous douchebag against a common man. A now babyface Eddie takes issue with MJF's exile of Sammy and Hager from Inner Circle, how people like MJF stab people in the back all the time just to get ahead. The promos themselves would be a thing of beauty. )
Winner: MJF ( After a low blow and a sick piledriver, MJF cheats his way to a win. Afterwards, Friedman grabs a mic, and proceeds to insult Eddie's mother who is ringside. Eddie snaps, beats down MJF, and allows his mom to slap him in the face, before knocking him out at ringside with the Blackout Backfist. Eddie hugs his momma and celebrates with her. )

V 21 Man Casino Battle Royale, Winner Becomes Number One Contender For The World Title
CLUBS: Team Taz ( Cage, Hook, Hobbs, Ricky) and Pentagon
DIAMONDS: Fenix, Miro, Kip, Trent, Orange
HEARTS: Cabana, Reynolds, Spears, Jurrasic Express
SPADES: Butcher, Blade, FTR, Hager
JOKER: Moose
Winner: Miro by last eliminating Moose ( Notable spots include:
- Pentagon taking on the entire Team Taz by himself
- Lucha Brothers eliminating Best Friends, Team Taz and BB before being dumped by Miro
- Orange accidentally punching Trent

VI Good Brothers (c) vs Young Bucks (c), Winner Takes All ( With Omega and GB going heel and turning on Bucks, the brothers decide to challenge... The Brothers, to an all out ( pun intended ), winner takes all the gold match! )
Winners: Good Brothers ( Following interference from Don, who eats a Meltzer Driver for his troubles, the Good Brothers capitalize and nail a Super Magic Killer on Nick to retain the Impact belts and win the AEW ones! )

VII Nightmare Family ( Cody, Dustin, QT, Johnson, Brandi ) vs Dark Order ( 10, Uno, Stu, Silver, Anna ), 5 on 5 Losers Must Disband ( Following Cody's heel turn on Sting and Darby, he snaps and turns back to his real self, egocentric cocky prick who fancies himself a leader. Naturally, in the months to come, his wife, best friend, brother and young prospect Lee Johnson join him to formally introduce the Nightmare Family. Cody's first mission - eliminating all other stables. 10 steps up as the co-leader and challenges the heels to a 5 on 5 war where the losing team disbands forever. )
Winners: Dark Order ( Naturally, the babyfaces win, with 10 pinning Dustin, solidifying him as the future of the company. Cody continues to be a heel afterwards, while the Dark Order's rise continues, with Uno and Stu defeating Gallows and Anderson for the AEW titles in early 2021 and 10 having a title match with PAC where he loses, but earns the Bastard's respect. )

VIII Chris Jericho vs Sammy Guevara ( After Jericho's betrayal, Sammy and Hager get kicked out of the Inner Circle. Sammy spends the rest of the year attempting to get his hands on his former mentor, to prove himself as the man. )
Winner: Sammy Guevara ( After becoming the first person to kick out of the Judas Effect, and surviving the Walls of Jericho, Guevara hits his mentor with his own move, the Codebreaker! A stunned Jericho walks right into another, picture perfect Codebreaker, before Sammy climbs up top and nails a nasty 630 senton to get the win! Guevara has defeated his idol, cementing his face turn and his singles career. )

IX Serena Deeb (c) vs Deonna Purazzo (c) vs Britt Baker (c), Winner Takes All ( a massive match for the NWA, Impact and AEW Women's championship! Build up naturally includes these ladies dissing each other on social media, invading each other's shows, and dream singles matches, none of which end clean. )
Winner: Britt Baker ( after an excruciating 20 minutes, we see two ladies invade ringside, it's Team Sea Stars, Ashley Vox and Delmi Exo! The two get Deonna out of the ring and with Rebel's help, drive her through the timekeeper's area! Baker takes advantage and makes Deeb tap out. Britt Baker is now a Triple Champion, as her new crew hoist her and her belts up. Impact's women have switched sides! )

X Sami Callihan vs Jon Moxley, Cincinnati Carnage ( the only cinematic match on the show, but it will be a great one. Moxley and Callihan, Switchblades no more, are here to deliver a dream match a decade in the making. The match will take place in a dirty warehouse in Cincinnati and obviously be pre - taped.)
Winner: Jon Moxley by TKO ( No reason to even write spots here, these guys do everything you can imagine and probably more. Finally, Mox knocks Sami off an elevated position through a stack of glass tables!! As there was no referees, and as this as not an official match but rather a fight, Mox technically wins, as Sami ain't moving. )

XI Hangman Adam Page vs Kenny Omega, Last Chance match for the AEW World Title ( The ultimate way to end a show, Omega vs Page. After accepting the Dark Order as his new family and even defeating Chris Jericho to vanquish that demon from his past, Hangman is ready to finally fulfil his destiny. However, Omega and Callis throw a curveball - if Hangman loses, he can never challenge for the AEW World Title again. Ever. Hangman accepts, knowing that he can do this. )
Winner: Adam Page ( No One Angel kickouts here, they are not needed. Basically, this will be that Johnny Gargano vs Adam Cole match where the entire UE interfered, but Johnny still won. Good Brothers will show up, but get neutralized. Even Callis himself will show up, but eats a Buckshot instead. Omega capitalizes with his own Buckshot Lariat! 1, 2, 2.9!!! Hangman perseveres, nails Kenny with a V Trigger before taking off his elbow pad. Hangman gets on the apron, lets out a mighty roar and takes Omega's damn head off with a Buckshot! 1, 2, 3! He did it! Hangman is the new AEW World Champion! The entire babyface locker room and Dark Order show up and celebrate, as the millennial cowboy finally did it. )

$240k/hour - the perfectly legitimate way to farm money from the Diamond Casino

Introductory reading: https://www.reddit.com/gtaonline/comments/ciuz70/ultimate_gambling_guide_for_gta_online_odds/
As mentioned in the linked post, gambling at the Inside Track in the Diamond Casino can be very lucrative since
To summarize the post, the odds for each horse is converted into a raffle system where each horse gets a corresponding number of raffle tickets for their odds. A ticket is then picked at random to determine the winner. Since the payout is directly correlated to the odds, this means that if there are less than 100 tickets between all horses, then each horse now has a higher chance of winning than their payout suggests (and if higher than 100 tickets, then a lower chance of winning). Determining if one should bet on a given race, then, is easily scriptable:
def shouldBet(odds): """ Determines if the player should bet on a race given the known raffle logic. :param odds: A list of ints, representing the denominators for each odds. "Evens" is represented with 1. :return: True if the player should bet, False otherwise. """ running_sum = 0 for item in odds: num_tickets = 100 / (item + 1) running_sum += num_tickets if running_sum <= 100: print("Bet: {}".format(100/running_sum)) return True else: print("Do not bet: {}".format(100/running_sum)) return False
I used this script to determine my betting behavior for an hour and ended up with this:
https://imgur.com/skv6DMW
Obviously, I can always run multiple trials to make this more accurate, but preliminary results suggest an income of $240k/hour. It requires a lot of typing/clicking and is easier with multiple screens to switch back and forth between GTA and the script, but otherwise is pretty brainless to do.
The script does not specify which horse to bet on, because as mentioned the payout for each horse directly correlates to its odds of winning, so the expected value for each horse is the same (a horse with 50% chance of winning will 2x your money, a horse with 1/8 chance of winning will 8x your money, and so on). However, it makes the most sense to bet the max on the horse with the highest odds (assuming the round is expected to be profitable in general), which is what I did for this trial.

The Bollywood film ‘Dhoom’ (2004), misinterpreted as an action thriller, is in fact a rigorous allegorical analysis of economic policies, particularly in the Indian context in the early ‘00s.

Spoilers ahead.
Connoisseurs of film are undoubtedly well-aware of La Nouvelle Vague, aka, the ‘New Wave’—an experimental movement in filmmaking with its origins in the French cinema of the 1950s, with an emphasis on exploration of personal themes such as existentialism, iconoclasm and absurdism. Although the ‘New Wave’ is considered to have met its chronological end in the late 1960s, to be followed by successive movements like ‘New Hollywood’, ‘Cinema Novo’ and ‘Dogme 95’, the influence of la nouvelle vague continues to be keenly felt in the artistic masterpieces of Bollywood production house YRF. Under the skillful hand of renowned auteur Aditya Chopra, the studio has produced a lineup of commercially successful arthouse flicks that continue the French filmmaking renaissance of the ‘50s, successfully infusing avant-garde storytelling techniques with high production values and modern Indian themes. Nowhere is this revolutionary vision more evident than in films like DDLJ (a masterpiece in abstract, absurdist storytelling), Mohabbatein (a sensitive examination of the taboo topic of attitudes towards adolescent self-gratification), Kal Ho Naa Ho (an ambitious adaptation of historian David McCullough’s book 1776), Jab Tak Hai Jaan (a religio-philosophical drama that engages in debate upon the tenets of Christianity, Shaivism, and the cultural taboo of Kala Pani) and, of course, the Dhoom franchise.
As YRF’s most popular franchise, the Dhoom series has, with each installment, made great independent strides in cinematic theory and practice. Although—as read above—YRF films explore a wide, varying range of topics as a whole, the Dhoom franchise focuses exclusively on the examination and discussion of economic and socio-economic matters of policy and practice in the Indian context. Over the course of 3 films, the discourse acquires a rich depth, with the analysis of issues including the economic costs and benefits of national highway construction, the clash between entrepreneurial aspirations and the security of bureaucratic employment, the 2008 economic recession in the BRICS context, and the causes and consequences of non-performing bank loans and a profiling of defaulters of on said loans. Indeed, a first course on Indian economics at any prestigious institution may well be framed around careful viewing and discussion of the Dhoom films. In the careful hands of Aditya Chopra and Vijay Krishna Acharya (Dhoom 1/2/3, Tashan, Thugs of Hindostan), each Dhoom film achieves a delicate balance between the overt cops-and-robbers heist story and the covert exploration of complex economic schools of thought.
As the 1st film in the franchise, Dhoom (2004) establishes the storytelling framework for the films to come, and by itself explores the challenges and opportunities presented by Indian economic policymaking in the early ‘00s. The film features an all-round star-studded cast, with support from Honorary Roadie & Stardust Awards nominee Esha Deol, Star’s Sabsey Award winner Rimi Sen, and Indian Telly Award nominee Arav Chowdharry. At the film’s helm are Lions Club Award winner John Abraham, Sansui Award winner Abhishek Bachchan, and Emmy nominee Uday Chopra. Series regulars Bachchan and Chopra play Jai and Ali respectively, Jai being a policeman and Ali a small-time mechanic with a penchant for fast bikes and disinterested women. Abraham essays the villainous role of Kabir, part-time restaurant waiter and part-time leader of a gang of biker thieves.
The film begins with a series of daring heists pulled off by Kabir’s gang, relying on their high-speed bikes to orchestrate sudden thefts and promptly escape the scene soon after. Their exploits catch the eye of Jai, a lifetime appointee to the post of Assistant Commissioner of Police. Jai, however, finds himself out of his depth and through a series of accidents, makes the acquaintance of Ali, a mildly-seedy mechanic and bike racer. Initially reluctant to be associated with law enforcement, Ali is eventually induced to join Jai’s cause and attempt to chase down Kabir and his merry band of men. Dhoom is slow and deliberate in its setup, and the film’s early minutes are heavy on subtext and detail, therefore, it is essential to take in the plot in small increments, so as to be thorough with one’s analysis.
In an allegorical sense, Jai, as a police officer, represents bureaucratic authority and the security, comforts and powers of government employment. Abraham’s Kabir, as a thief, is a laissez-faire capitalist, relying on his material advantage in the form of fast bikes and his manpower advantage in the form of skilled bikers to partake in a series of one-sided transactions with economic entities such as banks and government funds. In this sense, the act of robbery in Dhoom is merely a transaction between two private parties wherein one side gains an unfair amount at the other’s expense, absent external interventionism. In addition to being a free-market advocate, Kabir is also an employee at a pizza parlour, which seems to be the film’s attempt at exploring both the growing role of the service economy as a share of India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and the amorphous nature of employment within the modern ‘gig’ economy. Caught between the competing ideas of state-control and free capitalism, Chopra’s Ali is a stand-in for the directionless youth, lured by the safety and dignity of a government job, whilst simultaneously seduced by the potential for greater wealth presented by free-market capitalism. The film’s plot is overt in this depiction, with Ali simultaneously fearful of Jai’s authority, yet desirous of wielding said authority as an employed policeman. Furthermore, in an action sequence set in Mumbai’s Chor Bazaar—a flea market specializing in illegally-hawked goods—Jai and Ali get into a fight with goons in the market, and are forced to make a hasty escape after being outnumbered. Ali bringing Jai to the market illustrates his ties to the informal, underground economy—a large, undocumented component of the Indian economy—and Jai’s subsequent fleeing the scene highlights the failed outcome of government attempts to regulate this grey economy by force and bluster.
Initially at a loss for clues, Jai is eventually able to deduce that Kabir’s bikers arrange their heists in close proximity to highways, providing as the highways do quick getaways after. This is no doubt an allusion to the economic importance of the National Highways Authority of India’s flagship ‘Golden Quadrilateral’ national highway construction project. Kabir, the raw capitalist, is empowered in his capitalistic pursuits by the government’s infrastructure investments, and John Abraham’s moody expression throughout the film is in no small part perhaps due to the discontentment within Kabir’s mind about his enterprise’s dependence on resources provided by the state. Having deduced Kabir’s MO, Jai and Ali attempt to catch him in the act. However, Kabir and his gang appear to have substantially faster bikes than Jai and Ali, which is undoubtedly an allusion to the government’s perceived ineptitude and inability to generally compete with private enterprise. Left chafing and chasing the dust, Jai catches a lucky break when an overconfident Kabir offers him a clue about his upcoming crime, with the catch being that if Jai fails to avert it, he must recuse himself from the case and leave Kabir to his entrepreneurial pursuits. Kabir, the staunch capitalist, is here hinting at the idea of termination clauses in Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), agreements between enterprises and governments for mutual benefit. Whilst the government naturally retains the right to sever the partnership at any point, Kabir clearly believes that he, as the private party, is also entitled to terminate the contract should the government, aka Jai, default on the agreed-upon terms. Formally known as the ‘Authority Default’ concept, Dhoom represents this idea in the form of a simple, easy to understand challenge between Jai and Kabir.
Even as this layered conflict plays out between Jai and Kabir, Ali is enamoured by the mysterious ‘Dilbara’ (Esha Deol). Little is known about Dilbara, however, like other characters in the film, it may be reasonably assumed than she is also an allegorical depiction of an economic concept. Ali’s infatuation with her suggests that she is perhaps intended to be portrayed as a vague, undefined avenue of aspirational employment. Furthermore, the fact that she (as is later revealed) is in fact a part of Kabir’s gang, yet also harbours feelings for Ali, leads one to conclude that Dilbara represents a form of compromise between dirigisme, aka restrictive state-controlled economy, and laissez-faire anarcho-capitalism. The filmmakers leave the specifics of this compromise vague, however, Dilbara’s skimpy outfits perhaps represent the scantiness of opportunities presented by this nebulous alternative.
Returning to the main plot, Jai, despite being forewarned, fails to foil Kabir’s next robbery, despite being able to take down one of his gang in the process. Left short of a gang member, Kabir attempts to recruit Ali, left sidelined by Jai following their failure to catch Kabir. The jilted Ali readily embraces Kabir’s neoliberal worldview and the duo jet off to Goa, where Kabir has his eyes set on one final score from a casino. Subtextually, the casino and gambling in general represent what is in Kabir’s eyes an essential component of his brand of capitalism—rampant speculation and volatility that may be manipulated to one’s benefit. There may also be an addition reference to British academic Susan Strange’s seminal 1986 work Casino Capitalism, a critique of unregulated banking and financial systems. However, Kabir is more likely than not to be derisive of such thoughts, and therefore, if this reference was intended, it may merely be made to indicate the filmmakers’ complete mastery over both Keynesian and Austrian schools of economic thought.
The importance of dance numbers in YRF films cannot be overstated. Even as Bollywood music gravitates towards being little more than catchy jingles designed to elicit maximum publicity, the music and dance numbers in YRF films complement the plot perfectly, serving to both entertain and narrate. Dhoom is no exception to this tradition of excellence. On the eve of Kabir’s final heist, an inebriated Jai shows up at the casino, claiming to have left police employment and moved on. Kabir, however, is rightly suspicious, given as Jai is still a cop, and is merely attempting to lure Kabir into a false sense of comfort as a prelude to catching him in the act. This Jai accomplishes by putting on a song-and-dance in front of Kabir to convince him of his abandonment of state-sponsored socialism and his embrace of Kabir’s unrestrained capitalism. The song is entitled ‘Salamee’, a clever homophone of ‘salami’, a sausage that consists primary of beef. The consumption of beef was, in a landmark 2005 Supreme Court judgement, forbidden on grounds on anti cow-slaughter laws. Kabir, as an opponent of government intervention, would likely have been opposed to the idea of such a restriction being imposed upon him. Therefore, to show his solidarity to the cause, Jai takes to the stage in front of Kabir and sways to the refrain of “Naye kal ko aao kare, hum karein, karein/Salami, salami, salami/Kar le salami…”.
The subterfuge is apparently successful, and a placated Kabir is lulled into a false sense of security by Jai’s reinforcement of his worldview. However, as mentioned, Jai’s conversion is little more than a ruse, and a hoodwinked Kabir is successfully caught in the act by Jai and Ali, who is revealed to have been Jai’s mole all along. The ever-slippery Kabir, however, weasels his way out of Jai’s clutches, and flees with his loot. Although Dhoom 3 would better address the phenomenon of loan defaulters taking flight from the verge of captivity, Dhoom too takes a cursory look at the occurrence, although Kabir does not quite embody a loan defaulter. He is merely the free-market capitalist, the robber baron caught flouting regulations and fleeing from the consequences of government intervention. A long chase sequence ensues, with Kabir fleeing but ultimately cornered by Jai and Ali at the precipice of a sea-facing cliff. Facing a choice between certain captivity and death, Kabir chooses to fly off the cliff with the last of his loot. In a literal sense, Kabir merely dies by falling off the cliff into the sea. In a figurative sense, faced with the prospect of his enterprise being forced to comply with ungainly regulations, Kabir chooses instead to offshore his business, and make for better waters, thus bringing his character arc to a natural and satisfying conclusion. A frustrated Jai bemoans his end, representing the government’s exasperation at ultimately failing to bring a rogue enterprise to heel. Ali, having seen his capitalistic expectations dive off a cliff with Kabir, chooses in the film’s final shot, to finally pursue the path to safe, steady, state-sponsored employment after all, asking Jai if he finally is a bona-fide police officer, as the film fades to black.
The topical nature of Dhoom is a cause for admiration, even a decade and a half after its release. The film successfully ties together strands of economic and socio-economic thought from its time—the ‘Golden Quadrilateral’ project received a major fillip in the first years of the new millennium, the service sector encountered a boom around the same time, as did the contribution of outsourcing to employment and economic growth. The rise of men like Kabir is perfectly timed in the post-License Raj years, as the country embraced capitalism over state socialism. Yet, the lure of stable, ‘safe’ government employment holds true, and powers men like Jai and seduces men like Ali. Dilbara’s unknown fate at the end of the film—left waiting for Ali by the side of a road—is representative of the uncertain outcomes of economic models with time. On a meta note, the Dhoom franchise’s casting of Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra in every film is a nod to the ‘Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act’ of 2005, a flagship government initiative that guarantees employment for a certain number of days out of the year, in the form of unskilled labour.
In summation, Dhoom rightly deserves its place as a seminal film in the annals of both YRF and Indian cinema. In its own right, it is a bold, experimental film that marries erudition to entertainment. It is also the progenitor of its celebrated franchise, providing the springboard from which future films would explore similar issues in an equally deft and precise fashion. To YRF, the Dhoom franchise, and Indian cinema, the film Dhoom is nothing short of a bottle of nitrous oxide, that when attached to a bike, propels it into the stratosphere.

The Fall were a group from Manchester founded by the enigmatic Mark E. Smith in 1976, after seeing the Sex Pistols at the Lesser Free Trade Hall. The group would go on to influence many bands over it's 40+ years of existence, such as Pavement and LCD Soundsystem. (Click link for write up on band)

The Fall was founded by one Mark E. Smith back in 1976, after seeing the Sex Pistols at the Lesser Free Trade Hall (The same gig attended by Ian Curtis and Peter Hook of Joy Division, Morrissey of the Smiths, and Tony Wilson, who founded the highly influential indie label Factory Records. Basically, Mark was at one of the more important gigs of the past 50 years, as this gig inspired all of those previously mentioned to either start bands or get involved in the punk scene, and changing the course of British indie music.). Over their 40+ years of operation, the band had Mark E. Smith at its helm as the sole constant member throughout it's existence. The band would become known for its classic assortment of records, with the tight musicianship by members such as guitarist Craig Scanlon and drummer Karl Burns (shown in the beginning of this clip from MTV's Cutting Edge) and Mark's esoteric lyricism, the witty, while often-times volatile and difficult, personality of Mark E. Smith, and the constant changing lineup of its members as a result of Mark's volatility. They would also remain to be the favorite band of legendary DJ John Peel, with the band holding the record of the most Peel sessions by a band, which is 24 sessions. The Fall would ultimately come to an end with the untimely death of Mark E. Smith in 2018 due to kidney and lung cancer.
The Fall are a significant band in the history of Post Punk, with a wide catalog of music to listen to released throughout the different eras of the band. I have decided to make a write-up going through the many eras of the Fall, while giving some recommendations from each era to start you off.
(1976 - early 1979 - Early Beginnings: The Martin Bramah Era)
during these years, the Fall were just getting their start with their sound. Their early material leans more towards the punk side of the sword rather than the post punk of their later years, but the embryo of the Fall's sound is clearly present. This can possibly be attributed to the guitar style of Martin Bramah in their early releases, which has a high pitched and trebly sound to the guitars. Their first recorded released came on a live album on the last day of operation for the Electric Circus, then they released their debut EP Bingo Master's Breakout then a single called It's The New Thing all in 1978. They finally released their debut album Live at the Witch Trials in March 1979 before Martin Bramah left in April 1979 due to increasing tensions with Mark E. Smith. He would then go on to found a band by the name of Blue Orchids with another former Fall member Una Baines, who he was dating at the time. Martin would prove to not be the only member to leave because of Mark's controlling demeanor in the band's future.
Here's some tracks to introduce you to this era's punky edge:

Bingo Master's Breakout EP (The entire EP's good to check out)
It's The New Thing
Rebellious Jukebox
Futures and Pasts
Mother-Sister
(mid 1979 - 1982 - The First Golden era: the Marc Riley Era)
I'm calling this the Marc Riley era because, even though Marc Riley was a part of the Bramah era, after Martin Bramah left, Riley would become the main guitarist instead of his previous role as bassist. This would open the door for members like Craig Scanlon to join on rhythm guitar and Steve Hanley on bass. This would end up transforming the sound of the band into the post-punk sound most people are familiar with the band. After releasing Rowche Rumble and the album Dragnet in 1979, the band would end up releasing a string of classic singles in 1980, such as Fiery Jack, How I Wrote Elastic Man, and probably their most well-known song, Totally Wired, as well as releasing the great album Grotesque (After the Gramme). 1981 would also prove to be a good year, with the release of the single Lie Dream of a Casino Soul and the 10-inch EP Slates. The band would end up travelling to Iceland for a string of gigs, which would lead to the recording of some songs for probably their best album Hex Enduction Hour, with tracks like Hip Priest and The Classical displaying the Fall's power in full force. The band would also released the album Room To Live and the single Look, Know. However, this year would prove to be the last with Marc Riley on lead guitar. After learning of their chart success in New Zealand (which was about 300 copies sold to get in the top 20), the band travelled there to play a few gigs in Australia and New Zealand. While there, increasing tensions between Smith and Riley came to a head in Australia when Riley punched Smith in the face for slapping the band for dancing to the Clash (yes, really). There is even a television interview where Mark's black eye is visible (even with heavy makeup). This tour would end up being released as a live album by the legendary New Zealand label Flying Nun Records as the album Fall in a Hole in 1983 (Which Smith would eventually threaten legal action for and forced Flying Nun to pay all of the revenue from the record, effectively almost killing Flying Nun in its infancy). Marc would end up being sacked by the end of the year. This left a hole to be filled for the lead guitar role, and that would be filled after a trip to America.
Here's some tracks to check out to introduce you to the classic Fall sound:

(1983 - 1989 - The Second Golden era: The Brix Smith Era)
The band would soldier on without Marc Riley into 1983, with Craig Scanlon taking his place on lead guitar. This period would lead to the release of singles like The Man Whose Head Expanded and the Kicker Conspiracy EP. During the Fall's first American tour without Marc Riley, Mark E Smith was introduced to Brix Smith after a gig in Chicago in April. Within three months, Brix would move to England and end up marrying Mark. She would eventually join the band in September of that year and would first appear on their album Perverted by Language, albeit with minimal involvement and only appearing on one track. Her introduction to the band would end up bringing a pop sensibility to the band, as she would eventually become a major songwriting contributor along with Mark and she would try and push the Fall into a more commercially viable direction.
This period would lead to some of the band's most critically acclaimed,as well as their most commerically successful, material. early singles like C.R.E.E.P and Oh! Brother in 1984 display the early shift into the pop sphere for the band. The band would also release the album The Wonderful and Frightening World Of in 1984. By 1985, the band were starting to hit their stride in the commercial sphere, with singles like Cruiser's Creek and Couldn't Get Ahead appearing in the singles charts and the great album This Nation's Saving Grace receiving critical acclaim and decent sales. The band would continue to release increasingly pop-oriented records between 1986-1987, with singles like Mr. Pharmacist, Hit the North and Hey! Luciani reaching the lower ends of the charts, There's a Ghost In My House giving the band their highest singles chart peak, and the album Bend Sinister reaching the Top 40. However, 1988 would prove to be a banner year for the band, with the album The Frenz Experiment reaching the top 20, and the single of the Kinks song Victoria also reaching the top 40. However, this era would eventually come to an end in 1989, when Mark E Smith and Brix Smith ended up divorcing and Brix left the band. Her last record in this era would prove to be the album I am Kurious Oranj, a collaboration with the Michael Clark dance group. However, the trajectory that Brix set the band upon would let their success continue into the 90s, With the band eventually reaching their peak in commercial popularity. However, not all good things are meant to last.
Here's some songs to check out to introduce you to this era's pop-leaning sound:
The Man Whose Head Expanded
Kicker Conspiracy
Eat Y'self Fitter
C.R.E.E.P

Mr. Pharmacist
Hey! Luciani
There's a Ghost in my House
Hit The North
Victoria
Big New Prinz
Dead Beat Descendant
(1990 - 1994 - The Peak, followed by the Fall: The Major Label years)
After Brix left the band, Martin Bramah was brought back into the fold to fill in her place, and would be featured on the album Extricate, which led to songs like Telephone Thing, which shows influence from the Madchester scene of that time period, which included the Stone Roses and the Happy Mondays, and the love song Bill is Dead, which possibly reflects upon his divorce the previous year. However, Martin Bramah would not be staying for long, as he would end up being kicked out of the band that same year for having a relationship with the keyboardist. This album marked the period when the band would be featured on a major label, with the band being signed to Fontana. The Fall would continue on to have success during this period, with the aforementioned Extricate reaching the top 40, albums like Shift-Work and Code: Selfish reaching the top 30, and singles like White Lightning and Free Range reaching in the single charts, with Free Range being the bands last top 40 single. Their commercial peak would come with the album The Infotainment Scan, which contained a cover of Lost in Music by Sister Sledge, giving the Fall their first and only top 10 hit album. Mark would also be featured on a top 20 single, which was I Want You by the Inspiral Carpets. However, Mark E. Smith's speed and alcohol addiction, which persisted over the previous decade, started to take its toll. The bands fortunes started to dwindle with the album Middle Class Revolt, Which only reach number 48 in the charts, a far cry from their previous Top 10 success. With this album, the Fall would begin to go downhill, both in their commercial performance and their critical stature.
Here's some songs to check out from this banner period for the Fall:
Telephone Thing
I'm Frank
Bill is Dead
Edinburgh Man
Free Range
Lost in Music
Hey! Student
15 Ways
(1995-1998 - The Low Point: The Brownies Years)
By this point, Mark E. Smith begins to go downhill with the previously mentioned drug and alcohol addiction, and its effect on the music shows. Brix Smith returns around this time period and would come back on the album Cerebral Caustic. Even with her involvement in the band, the album got middling reviews and performed worse than Middle Class Revolt. Smith would also dismiss the long time guitarist Craig Scanlon, who had co-written 120 songs with Smith over the previous 16 years. Smith would later say that he regretted this decision. By the time of The Light User Syndrome, Brix had enough of Mark E. Smith's degrading state and behavior due to alcohol abuse, and would leave on the tour supporting this album. This period would be wrought with increasing tensions in the band and financial troubles, which ultimately came to a head on the US tour supporting the album Levitate at an infamous gig at the New York venue Brownies in April of 1998. Smith ended up appearing drunk at the gig, and did everything in his power to make it hard for the band to play. It came to a head when drummer Karl Burns, who returned to the band when Middle Class Revolt was made, ended up shoving Smith for messing with his drum kit. Burns and long-time/essential bassist Steve Hanley would end up leaving the band and never returning. After this gig, the next few years are marked with the band remaining a low profile for the most part, where would eventually return to form by 2003.
Here's some tracks to check out (if you want to) from this era:
Don't Call me Darling
Rainmaster
D.I.Y Meat
The Chiselers
Powder Keg
Masquerade
(1998 - 2002 - Touch Sensitive: The Long Lull)
During this period of the Fall, the band was just starting to be put back together by Mark after the debacle that was the Brownies gig. The band was able to achieve some form of critical favor with their album The Marshall Suite in 1999, with Touch Sensitive being a particular standout on the album and being featured in a Volkswagen commercial. The band would then release their album The Unutterable, which also started to gain the critic's favor back. The next album Are You Are Missing Winner, however, didn't do the band any favors, as it was recorded when the band was tight on funds. It was considered a misstep by the Fall after the acclaim that the last album received. However, this would ultimately lead to the start of a new era of the fall that would effectively renew their relevance as a band in the public's eye.
Here's some tracks to check out from this transitional period of the bands history:
Touch Sensitive
W.B
Sons of Temperance
Dr. Bucks Letter
Bourgeois Town
(2003 - 2009 - A return to grace: The Third Golden Age)
This era of the fall proved to be a rebirthing of the band's relevance and quality, with Mark writing some of the best material the band had in years. This era starts with the album The Real New Fall LP (Formerly Country on the Click) in 2003, which provided the band with some late era classics, such as Mountain Energei and Theme From Sparta F.C. Around this period, the DJ John Peel, who was one of the band's biggest supporters from the beginning, died of a heart attack, but not before the Fall could release one more Peel session a couple months before his death. The Fall would then release Fall Heads Roll in 2005, which also provided the band with another late-era classic in the form of Blindness. The band would also release albums like Reformation Post TLC and Imperial Wax Solvent within the same period. Imperial Wax Solvent would end up being the first Fall album in 15 years to reach the top 40. This would lead into the final era of the Fall leading up to Mark E. Smith's untimely death.
Here's some tracks to check out from this era:
Mountain Energei
Theme From Sparta F.C.
Blindness
Clasp Hands
Fall Sound
Latchkey Kid
Is This New
Strange Town
(2010 - 2018 - The Witching Hour: The Domino and Cherry Red/final years)
In 2010, the Fall would release Your Future Our Clutter on Domino Records, the same label that releases records by the Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand, Two bands heavily influenced by the Fall. Mark E. Smith would also end up recording vocals for Glitter Freeze on the Gorillaz album Plastic Beach, which was released in 2010. The band would eventually move to Cherry Red records, which would remain the label of the band until its dissolution. On Cherry Red, the Fall would release album such as Ersatz GB, Re-Mit, Sub-Lingual Tablet, and New Facts Emerge. The latter album would prove to be the band's last record. Over this period, Mark began to develop significant health problems, and would eventually be diagnosed with terminal lung and kidney cancer. This is probably due to the fact that Mark E. Smith was a heavy smoker for most of his life, and his previous problems with drugs and alcohol didn't help either. Mark would perform his final gig with the Fall in November of 2017, and would eventually succumb to his illnesses on January 24th, 2018. Mark E. Smith would leave behind a long history of innovation, wit, and volatility and large catalog of great music for others to be inspired by.
Here's some tracks to check out from the final era of the Fall:
Bury Pts. 2 + 4
Nate Will Not Return
Loadstones
Fibre Book Troll
New Facts Emerge
(Final Remarks)
So that's my write-up for the Fall. I discovered this band about 3-4 years ago and I have fallen in love with them ever since, and I just felt like that they deserved some attention. I wrote this post for anyone who may be interested in checking out the band and giving them a place to start from no matter the era. May Mark E. Smith rest in peace, for he wrote "Northern white crap that talks back" and dug repetition.
P.S: For any fans of the fall, what is your favorite album/song by the fall and why?
If you want to, you can come check out my subreddit Collectionhauls, where I've been posting vinyl finds I've had at the flea market, and have been posting music to check out since March. If you want, you can come post something from your collections to show to others. Anyway, goodbye and I hope you enjoyed my post and possibly enjoy the Fall even more.

Russian Roulette should be allowed in Casinos

Suspend if you will your immediate disbelief regarding the legal and safety hurdles involving this, and imagine Russian Roulette in Casinos as a commonplace, accepted game of chance enjoyed by a specific, adventurous breed of gambler.
First and foremost- Money, baby...
There is dough to be made, and in unprecedented sums. The Casino sees all profit from this, and so does the winner. Basically, the Casino acts as a setting for the game, and ensures the rules are properly followed. That's it. They don't "match chips" or put up their own money in these games. They supply revolvers and assurance that the game isn't rigged. 5 dudes die, 1 lives, profit splits 50/50 between Casino and winner.
The other benefit is gene pool strengthening. Yes, it'll be an insignificant number when simply compared to yearly world mortality statistics, but the fact is this: sick people with tainted blood are willingly taking themselves out of the genetic equation. A positive baby step, but one that future generations will in some way ultimately benefit from.
Allow Russian Roulette in the Casinos.

C.R.E.E.P
2 X 4
Cruiser's Creek
No Bulbs
Spoilt Victorian Child
My New House
I am Damo Suzuki
Shoulder Pads #1
Mr. Pharmacist
Hey!
I personally believe that the Fall, while revered in Post-Punk circles and UK indie music, I feel that they are still highly underappreciated in popular music. I feel that they should have been on the same level as the Cure or Joy Division in their cultural significance to music in general. However, what we do have from the Fall is great and I can say that I love them dearly.
For any fans of the fall, what is your opinion on the significance of the Fall to popular music? What do you find to be your favorite aspect of the Fall's music?

A realistic look at Fred and George's bet with Ludo Bagman and what they might win.

Fred and George eagerly offer up a truly absurd bet with almost no provocation when Ludo Bagman offers one. They bet 37 Galleons, 15 sickles and 3 knuts, plus a fake wand Ludo values at 5 galleons (a real wand is 7 galleons so its a really impressive fake, it seems. )
Now most people would assume it's a straightforward bet and if the twins are correct, Ludo owes them 85 galleons, 13 sickles and 6 knuts. (Or 79 Galleons if he returns the wand when he pays up.)
But Ludo says something very important in the area of sports betting. "I'll give you excellent odds on that!"
Which means the twins are not doing a 1 for 1 bet, but are getting a bet which pays in multiples. Once odds enter the discussion, there is no way its a 1 for 1. No one has ever considered a 1 for 1 bet "excellent odds."
The odds are not stated, but Fred and George's wager is absurd. They are betting that the most famous athlete in the most famous sport in their world will either make a tremendous, legendary blunder on par with Chris Webber calling the fateful timeout he didn't have to lose the NCAA championship, or Andres Escobar making the own-goal in the 1994 FIFA world cup that ultimately led to his murder a month later.
Or worse, that the most famous athlete will lose the game on purpose. This is not entirely uncommon in sports, and almost always for the same reason: betting. People in organized crime pay an athlete to lose, then bet as much as they can on the lost, guaranteeing their returns. But it's majorly illegal and if caught it means you're banned from the sport for life. Big stakes for an 18 year old wunderkind with his entire pro career ahead of him.
In other words, their prediction is hugely unlikely. No one else at the World Cup is looking for that bet and no other betting service would even think to offer odds on it. (Remember that matches lasting multiple days are common which means most seekers aren't getting bored and grabbing the snitch after 3 hours just to go home if they're losing.) And hugely unlikely bets get excellent odds. Betting on a winner and loser is straightforward, but betting on isolated elements of a game like that is much more complex and carries much higher odds. Think roulette, they're not betting on black or white. They're betting on specific numbers, but still way beyond that. Glance through Super Bowl prop bets and you'll see picking the guy who scores the winning touchdown or field goal will have odds between 1 to 100 and 1 to 1,000 depending on the players role in the offense.
So how much would the twins have won if Bagman was an honest man? The twins don't say a word about odds, which was incredibly foolish of them, so we'll run the gamut. (I'm including the knuts and sickles in the calculations but after adding them to the galleon tally I'm just reporting the galleons.)
- If they bet at 3 to 1 they would make 128.66 Galleons, not counting getting their original 37 back.
- If it's 5 to 1 they win 214.44
- 10 to 1 pays 428.88
- 20 to 1 pays 857.77. This, frankly would be the absolute minimum of acceptable odds if the twins knew their way around a sports book. Still very low.
- 25 to 1 pays 1,072.21
- 50 to 1 pays 2,144.42
- 100 to 1 pays 4,288.84
- 200 to 1 pays 8,577.69
- 500 to 1 pays 21,444.22 This is probably outside the realm of possibility without Ludo having a legit backer or running a legitimate book operation, he simply wouldn't accept a bet that would pay out like this. However, in a legitimate casino this would be the type of odds necessary to make someone bet on something this unlikely.
All that to say the 1,000 Galleons Harry gave them might be far less than what their seed money would have looked like if Ludo was honest, loaded, and fair.

[Music] 15 to spin [Music] yes that's it i thought it looked it looked a lot better in my mind sometimes the lower bets work better that's a pay line on 15. oh fine don't have to convince me it looks like if i'm a game manufacturer i'm making 15 lines that's not one of mine [Music] yeah of all the games being different heights different angles it's not always the easiest sometimes to uh that's it fifteen all right 30 that's fine 30 bucks on cats ah 200 nice [Music] come on bank the bonus that's good huh 400. nice [Music] that's right johnny milwaukee loves all the games that have cats in it kitty glitter miss kitty [Music] bonus [Music] [Music] what do you think should i play 45 a spin on catch or keep it here at 30. 500 is the floor we're going for that bonus oh yeah 250. i'll tell you what we'll do actually choose the max you can only play 30 bucks so by default oh bonus nope no nope gina anyway can you play black widow uh maybe you'll do some black widow i'll tell you what since we're doing well in the game we'll i don't want to lose any money on this game so we'll set the floor in a thousand bucks so we guarantee we don't lose any money playing cats [Music] i hate to do well in the machine and go broke trying to hit the bonus so [Music] come on okay 200 just for that [Music] and if we break the two 2000 mark maybe he'll set a floor above that come on full screen say meow i likey [Music] so if the raja ever tells you something about me 95 of the time it's not true he said you were an awesome individual b.o.d yep see told you now he knows better than joke about my dogs so oh yeah that's like the one thing he knows so if he says something about my dogs that may be true but besides that i never had malaria [Music] what's not a pay line but this jagged thing is that's bs hey ben hello [Music] don't get called on me kitty cats [Music] all right um is black widow on here all right this game's getting cold i'm going to use this extra 186 dollars for black widow so the forum black widow's still going to be 500. i so whatever that's worth executive vod decision [Music] forty dollars to spend on black widow [Music] the floor is at 500 on the game he's taking some of that extra money [Music] all right a black widow floor is five hundred dollars oh there's yep i that's a lot of people say i look like the purple guy in black widow they're the pink guy does that look like b.o.d what do you guys think i think it is they modeled it after me maybe that's right the raja this is his favorite game because he gets to see me all the time [Music] wow cheryl clark blackwidow be nice to b.o.d thank you we don't think we had a single playback of anything on black widow yet [Music] not a single does black widow hate b.o.d looks like ben affleck oh there we go on the last spin it pays 160 says don't quit on me [Music] ah mark wahlberg all right final spin and we're putting this ticket in the bank for cats and black widow so cats and black widow is done now i did play some um dancing drums earlier today and i got killed 2 000 down on dancing drums so based on that it's dancing drums revenge [Music] time [Music] yeah i saw my afternoon live play we did play some dancing drums so what do i got left 500 500 500 000 so 6500 in tickets i have 2500 left let's just make it easy to put a 500 ticket here so once again guys i had to get some thousand dollar tickets i couldn't get the 500 so that's why we used some tickets twice 1760 a bet and we're going for three if we get it we're going for three the last three games we haven't done anything so we're due for another bonus here jimbo come on drums let's see a bonus i agree timbo so the mini's at 178 miners 626 that seems awfully high you son of a yeah majors at 9 000 yeah we're going for three [Music] all right 660 dollar bonus [Music] all right we're gonna play some more uh like 750 floor on this game we need some backup spins let's get another bonus [Music] you know screw it we'll do the mystery if we get it again that sounds fine with me mystery if we get another bonus i just hit five drums [Music] all right final spin unless we hit something um [Music] all right whoops says uh [Music] top dollar let's do it [Music] a lot of people like the double top dollar [Music] yeah 210 dollars to spend sorry 10 dollars a credit 20 [Music] we've been doing better on the lower d knobs right now so [Music] she says always double she's an expert so yeah 10's on there i'm putting a thousand dollar ticket in so the floor will be 500. FBE Carnage Night II: Rebooking AEW All Out 2019 - Part 1

One year to the date after the first ever All In, the newly formed AEW holds their 4th overall show and final pay per view before the launch of their weekly television show in October, ALL OUT 2019. Emanating from the Sears Center in Chicago, Illinois, AEW looks to once again put on a show of the year contender, and announce to the world that there is a new player in town, and the pro wrestling revolution has begun.
Build to All Out
At the young company’s first ever show, Double or Nothing in May, Chris Jericho and “Hangman” Adam Page each won matches to earn a shot at being the inaugural AEW World Champion, with their match for the gold set to take place in the Main Event of the show. As a special feature, Bret “the Hitman” Hart will be at ringside to present the championship belt to the winner, just as he did when he presented it to the world at Double or Nothing.
All Out will also play host to two women’s matches to determine the contenders for the inaugural AEW Women’s Championship, with the finals set to take place on the Inaugural episode of Dynamite. On the Buy In, an all Women’s Casino Battle Royale will be held to determine one competitor, and on the main show a 4-Way between Hikaru Shida, Riho, Britt Baker and Bea Priestley will determine the second contender.
Originally, the “best bout machine” Kenny Omega was set to have a grudge match with Jon Moxley, the man who attacked him and Jericho after the main event of Double or Nothing. However, after Moxley had to pull out of the match up due to an elbow injury sustained during the G1 tournament in Japan, Kenny Omega will face off against his replacement, making his AEW debut, “the Bastard” PAC in a singles match.
With the announcement of the AEW Tag Team Tournament, Trent and Chuck Taylor of the Best Friends will take on Evil Uno and Stu Grayson of the Dark Order to determine which team gets a first round bye in the tournament.
Also on the show, after being turned on and attacked by his former best friend, Cody will face off against Shawn Spear in a singles match. The two were once tag team partners and started out their careers together in the late 2000s. However, after taking offense to some things Cody said in an interview after joining AEW, Shawn decided to turn on his friend to prove he was far more than just a “good hand”. Spears will have the legendary Tully Blanchard in his corner for the match, and Cody is only allowed one escort for the match, but who will he bring to even the odds?
We also have a big four way match up set to take place in the “first ever” Cracker Barrel Clash, as Darby Allin, Joey Janela, Jimmy Havoc and Sammy Guevara will face off, with each man hoping to score a big win on the biggest stage of their young careers. In addition to that, the winner of this match will also receive the distinguished honor of facing Cody on the first edition of Dynamite in the inaugural match to kick off the show.
In addition to those, the show is capped off by three stacked tag team matches. On the Buy In, Private Party will face off against Hybrid 2. On the main card, the veteran team of SCU will face off against the younger Jurassic Express, set to be a great battle of youth vs experience, and in a rematch from Double or Nothing, the AAA Tag Team Championships will be on the line in a Ladder Match, as the Young Bucks will once again face off against the Lucha Bros.

ALL OUT 2019: The Buy-In
Match 1
Kicking off the show, we have the Women’s Casino Battle Royale, with the “Clubs” starting off the match, with Nyla Rose, Priscilla Kelly, Leva Bates, Shazza McKenzie and Willow Nightingale all starting the match.
All 5 of them have a stand off before four of the women all give each other a look and rush the much larger Nyla Rose. They all gang up on her and push her back into a corner, kicking Nyla in the gut until ROSE SHOVES ALL OFF THEM BACK. Nyla grabs Leva by the hair and throws her over the ropes, but “the Librarian” Peter Avalon catches her on the outside. Avalon lays out books for Leva to help her walk back to the ring without touching the floor, as Rose clears out the ring. Nyla grabs McKenzie by the hair and throws her over the ropes, and Priscilla Kelly runs up and tries to hit Nyla from behind. She grabs Kelly by the throat and chokeslams her over the ropes before facing off with Willow. Nightingale tackles Nyla against the ropes and gets a few shots in on her, but Nyla grabs her by the legs and throws her over the ropes. Leva and Avalon both get in the ring but Peter tries to help Leva eliminate Nyla, but Rose takes them both down with a double close line and throws both of them out of the ring. Rose has eliminated all 4 other women as the clock counts down.
The Diamonds enter the match next and Awesome Kong leads the women out, flanked by her friend Brandi Rhodes, as well as Penelope Ford, Big Swole and Sadie Gibbs. All five climb into the ring, and Kong and Rose have a stare off in the ring as the crowd goes crazy. They engage in a punching match and the more experienced Kong gets the advantage and pushes Rose up against the ropes. Kong bounces off the ropes and goes to eliminate her with a clothesline, but Nyla HITS A SPEAR ON KONG AND BOTH WOMEN GO DOWN. The other four take advantage and try to fight with themselves, but ultimately, none of them are eliminated as the clock counts down.
The Spades come out third, led by Tenille Dashwood, Ivelisse, Kris Statlander, Allie and a surprise entrant, Aja Kong. The 5 women climb in the ring and start mixing it up with the others, and Aja Kong, Awesome Kong and Nyla Rose all meet in the center and the 3 powerhouses unload on eachother. Kong and Kong work together and eliminate the younger and more spry Nyla, before turning on each other and starting to attack. Brandi tries to aid Awesome Kong, but Aja kicks her in the head and sends Brandi tumbling over the ropes, and Awesome Kong eliminates Aja out of rage. The other women all rush over and work together to eliminate her too, and all 3 powerhouse are out as the clock winds down again.
The “Hearts” are last, with Jazz, ODB, Teal Piper, Nicole Savoy and Christy Jaynes come out as the final entrants before the Joker. The five women rush the ring and go ham trying to eliminate as many women as they can. Gibbs is quickly thrown out by Jazz, and Big Swole is sent over the ropes from a drop kick by Jaynes. Ivelliese and Piper mix it up, and Ivellise eliminates her, but ODB runs up and clotheslines her over the ropes immediately after. Statlander throws ODB over the ropes after that, and as the clock winds down, 5 women remain: Jazz, Statlander, Allie, Ford and Jaynes.
The clock winds down and the Joker is revealed as….. MERCEDES MARTINEZ!!! The veteran wrestler rushes down to the ring and goes right after Jazz, the biggest name in the ring. The two mix it up and Martinez takes her down with a standing drop kick. Jaynes runs up to hit her from behind but she punches Christy in the jaw before throwing her over the ropes. Allie and Ford try to double team her, but Mercedes eliminates both of them, leaving 3 women remaining. Mercedes and Jazz stand off in the middle of the ring and go back and forth trading blows. Jazz gets the upper hand, but Statlander runs up behind her and THROWS JAZZ OVER THE ROPES. We are down to two. Kris grabs Mercedes by the hair and tries to throw her over the ropes, but Martinez fights off Statlander and HEADBUTTS HER IN THE FOREHEAD. Martinez hits her with a lariat before grabbing Kris by the hair and trunks and THROWS HER OVER THE ROPES. Mercedes Martinez wins the Casino Battle Royale and will challenge for the Women’s Championship on the premiere of Dynamite.
Match 2
Following the Battle Royale, we have some tag team action coming up, with the young up and coming team Marq Quinn and Isaiah Cassidy of Private Party facing off against the veteran team of Jack Evans and Angelico of Hybrid 2, with both teams looking to pick up their first wins in AEW.
Angelico faces off against Isaiah Cassidy to start the match and the two lock up to start off the match. Angelico gets the advantage to start the match and uses his superior size to try and ground the high flying Cassidy, however, Isaiah uses his speed to break out of his hold and get the upper hand. Evans tags in and taunts Cassidy, baiting him into charging at him and Jack dodges it and NAILS CASSIDY WITH A KICK TO THE HEAD. Quinn tags himself into the match and he and Evans go back and forth bouncing off the ropes and reversing flips on eachother, until Quinn manages to take down Jack with a crossbody. Marq tags out to Isaiah and the two start double teaming Evans, until Jack manages to get off a double drop kick on both men and work back to his corner.
Angelico tags in and takes down both members of Private Party with a double clothesline. He tosses Quinn out of the ring and goes back to working on Cassidy. He drags Isaiah back to his corner and he and Evans tag in and out of the match to double team Cassidy. They beat down the young upstart wrestler, however, Cassidy manages to fight out of their attacks and NAILS ANGELICO WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE HEAD. Both men slowly crawl to their corners to make a hot tag, and Quinn and Evans rush into the ring. The two lock up in the ring and start trading punches, and Quinn takes down Jack with a standing drop kick. Evans rolls out of the ring to regroup with Angelico and Quinn bounces off the ropes and TAKES BOTH MEN DOWN WITH A DIVE TO THE OUTSIDE. Marq throws Angelico into the crowd and throws Evans back into the ring. He tags out to Cassidy and he takes out Evans with their “Gin and Juice” finisher. Quinn covers Evans and 1-2-3!!! Private Party picks up the win.
Following the match, the two grab a few cans of beer from ringside and hand them out to members of the crowd. The all bust open the beers, toast their first win and make their way into the sold out Sears Center to celebrate their first win in AEW.

MAME 0.223

MAME 0.223

MAME 0.223 has finally arrived, and what a release it is – there’s definitely something for everyone! Starting with some of the more esoteric additions, Linus Åkesson’s AVR-based hardware chiptune project and Power Ninja Action Challenge demos are now supported. These demos use minimal hardware to generate sound and/or video, relying on precise CPU timings to work. With this release, every hand-held LCD game from Nintendo’s Game & Watch and related lines is supported in MAME, with Donkey Kong Hockey bringing up the rear. Also of note is the Bassmate Computer fishing aid, made by Nintendo and marketed by Telko and other companies, which is clearly based on the dual-screen Game & Watch design. The steady stream of TV games hasn’t stopped, with a number of French releases from Conny/VideoJet among this month’s batch.
For the first time ever, games running on the Barcrest MPU4 video system are emulated well enough to be playable. Titles that are now working include several games based on the popular British TV game show The Crystal Maze, Adders and Ladders, The Mating Game, and Prize Tetris. In a clear win for MAME’s modular architecture, the breakthrough came through the discovery of a significant flaw in our Motorola MC6840 Programmable Timer Module emulation that was causing issues for the Fairlight CMI IIx synthesiser. In the same manner, the Busicom 141-PF desk calculator is now working, thanks to improvements made to Intel 4004 CPU emulation that came out of emulating the INTELLEC 4 development system and the prototype 4004-based controller board for Flicker pinball. The Busicom 141-PF is historically significant, being the first application of Intel’s first microprocessor.
Fans of classic vector arcade games are in for a treat this month. Former project coordinator Aaron Giles has contributed netlist-based sound emulation for thirteen Cinematronics vector games: Space War, Barrier, Star Hawk, Speed Freak, Star Castle, War of the Worlds, Sundance, Tail Gunner, Rip Off, Armor Attack, Warrior, Solar Quest and Boxing Bugs. This resolves long-standing issues with the previous simulation based on playing recorded samples. Colin Howell has also refined the sound emulation for Midway’s 280-ZZZAP and Gun Fight.
V.Smile joystick inputs are now working for all dumped cartridges, and with fixes for ROM bank selection the V.Smile Motion software is also usable. The accelerometer-based V.Smile Motion controller is not emulated, but the software can all be used with the standard V.Smile joystick controller. Another pair of systems with inputs that now work is the original Macintosh (128K/512K/512Ke) and Macintosh Plus. These systems’ keyboards are now fully emulated, including the separate numeric keypad available for the original Macintosh, the Macintosh Plus keyboard with integrated numeric keypad, and a few European ISO layout keyboards for the original Macintosh. There are still some emulation issues, but you can play Beyond Dark Castle with MAME’s Macintosh Plus emulation again.
In other home computer emulation news, MAME’s SAM Coupé driver now supports a number of peripherals that connect to the rear expansion port, a software list containing IRIX hard disk installations for SGI MIPS workstations has been added, and tape loading now works for the Specialist system (a DIY computer designed in the USSR).
Of course, there’s far more to enjoy, and you can read all about it in the whatsnew.txt file, or get the source and 64-bit Windows binary packages from the download page. (For brevity, promoted V.Smile software list entries and new Barcrest MPU4 clones made up from existing dumps have been omitted here.)
