At 10.30am on 9th of November, 2019, a 5-judge bench of the Supreme Court of India headed by outgoing CJI Ranjan Gogoi will pronounce a verdict that will hopefully bring closure to the landmark case.
It’s been a long and arduous trek for the mother of all title disputes. The case has kept the country on tenterhooks for 70 years.
Several cities are reporting limited prohibitory orders around assembling in groups. Some competitive exams have been postponed.
Prime Minister Modi and several other leaders have appealed for calm and acceptance of the verdict passed by the apex court.

UPDATES:
9.30am: Amit Shah chairs hi-level meeting with NSA Ajit Doval to monitor the security situation.
10.30am: The judgement will take around half hour to read through. CJI Gogoi is doing so right now. Reports say the whole judgement is unanimous.
10.39: The Shia petition has been against the 1945 order has been rejected. The judgement says suit filed by Nirmohi Akhara is barred by limitation
10.43: The CJI says they will base their judgement on the ASI report on the structure. However, he pointed out that ASI never mentioned that the mosque was build by demolishing an existing structure.
11.10am: The judgement was unanimous and creates a trust for the Hindu faith to take control of the disputed site. The Sunni Wakf board gets 5 acres to build a mosque in a prominent area at Ayodhya.

History

Ayodhya is said to be the birthplace of Sri Ram
It is proven that there used to be a temple there which was destroyed by Mughal Babur in 1528.
First recorded instance of violence to take back the area was in 1850s.
There has been off and on struggle from then on.
In 1949 Ram lalla moorti was kept in the mosque by Akhil Bharatiya Ramayana Mahasabha.
in 1980s the demand intensified.
in 1986 the doors of the structre was opened on the orders of Allahbad Highourt. It was to balance the muslim appeasement after Shah Bano.
in 1990 karsevaks were killed by Mulayam Singh Yadav's govt. They had reached Ayodhya after a Rath Yatra was organised by LK Advani
On 6th Dec 1992, the disputed structure was demolished by Karsevaks.
in 2010 the land was divided into 3 parites equally. 1/3rd each to Ram Lalla, Sunni Waqf Board, Nirmohi Akhada.
