(Life is like a puzzle, you just have to find the right piece.)

As an avid gardener, I ran across a couple posts about people who bought seeds and now are not sure how to handle them, or what to do with them, or are really excited to see sprouts but don't know what the next step is, as gardening is new to them. As I am stuck at home with nothing to do BUT garden and reddit, I thought it might be helpful to put my years of experience as a hobbyist to use and/or get a conversation going with other gardeners about what's going on in Baltimore this time of year in the great outdoors. If anything, it gives my hands a break from weeding. If you already garden and don't need the basics, skip to the bottom.
Without further ado:
((Step 0.5: Acquire your plants))
In theory, you've already done this while scouring the local market for any form of meat or bread, whatsoever. If you haven't, and want to, some seed companies are still shipping from their online sites. If you would like to buy local, the Meyer Seed Company operates out of downtown Baltimore and have a very good selection of seeds, leaning on the vegetable side.
Step 1: CONSIDER THE WEATHER
We had a very mild winter, and have been having reasonably mild weather the last month, so it looks unlikely that there will be a frost from here on out, however, there is still a rule of thumb that there is a chance of frost up until April 15th. Plants that are cold tolerant and/or frost tolerant can be started or planted outside now. These include lettuces, peas, spinach, kale, cabbage, broccoli, onions, most Asian greens, and radishes. Plants that are NOT cold tolerant can be started inside. These include tomatoes, peppers, melons, squash, beans, and beet relatives. For anything else, check out this handy chart.
Step 2: FIND SOME SUNNY DIRT
Vegetables are lovely, but pretty much all of them like a maximum amount of sunlight (with rare exceptions for things in the heat of summer, but don't worry about that now!) in very rich soil. So, assuming the time is right to plant, then it's time to dig a hole or twenty in the ground. Maryland soil tends to be heavy, with a lot of clay, and not always nutrient rich. Do not let that deter you -- just keep in mind that the more clay in your soil, the harder it is for baby plants to root, and more compacted it will be in the long run, so it may take a little longer than the seed packet says before you see significant growth. If possible, plan to keep your plants in the sunniest part of the yard.
Turning over your soil to make a bed is relatively uncomplicated. Break up the land you wish to plant on with a shovel to loosen it (Lacking a shovel, you can use a large knife you don't care for to cut or break up roots, or a large kitchen spoon if the soil is already loose, as in the case of an old planter). Remove any surface plants or weeds, turn the soil clods upside down, and break up anything that is clumping together, and remove anything that is a rock/trash/tree roots/broken glass/just not supposed to be there. You will likely kill a few worms in the process. Relax. There will be more worms later. Continue to turn and break clumps until you have a uniform-looking patch about four to eight inches deep clean of debris.
To make better soil than your average compacted clay-that-used-to-be-lawn, you have a few options. One is to re-use potting soil you may already have from old planters from last year. (However, this also begs the question of why not just use that soil and move on?) You can also try to gather topsoil from nearby locations, such as a nearby easement or other spots in your yard. Topsoil is the dark stuff that is nutrient rich, lying on top of the subsoil, which is usually red or gray clay. Topsoil in the wild has weed seeds in in, so don't be surprised when something unusual comes up. Old leaves you may have hanging around are also great for breaking up heavy soil, and as a bonus they attract earthworms. If your leaves are large, run over them with a lawnmower to break them up first, then mix in the freshly chopped debris. Bear in mind pine needles will mess with the pH of the soil and are probably better avoided unless you are planting an acid-loving plant (blueberries, or azaleas, are good examples).
If you live on or near a swamp, or just have a typical Maryland quagmire for a backyard you can make a bed drier by raising it above ground level. Excavate additional dirt from around where you're planting to get the bed a couple inches above grade, or make a simple raised bed out of old wood, a tire, concrete block, brick, or whatever can conveniently hold soil back when watered and allow excess moisture to drain out of the bottom. If you live on a heavy slope, use a similar idea to make a step in the slope and hold the loosened soil back with a raised wall. Basically, it's half a raised bed. Don't overthink it.
If you are improvising a container because you are in an apartment, you will still need dirt. Now is not a time we are encouraged to make close friends, so yelling at an appropriate social distance may be called for. As stated earlier, you can scavenge soil from local easements, break up old potting soil, add leaves, and so on. Additional matter can be saved to add mass to your potted planting: Save old kitchen scraps, a little bit of coffee grounds, and/or scrap paper, tear them up, and plant them at the bottom of the bin (do not leave scraps or coffee stuff up top: one attracts bugs and mice, the other is highly acidic and may harm younger plants). You can improvise a container from almost anything that won't decompose when wet: old storage bins, unused large cups bowls from the kitchen, reusable plastic grocery bags, and so on. When picking a container, ideally, water can exit the bottom, either because the sides are already a little porous or because you've got a hammer and the solution for once in your life looks like a nail. If not, just be careful not to overwater your plants -- whatever the soil is like on top, it's wetter on the bottom. Apartment gardens also need to factor in light. The more you get, the better. If you do not, multi-spectrum "daylight" bulbs are a good option to supplement natural light, or, if you don't have those, set up two lights that have a "warm" and "cool" bulb in each. Different light bulbs have different spectrums, and combining two of different colors means you're likely to get closer to sunlight.
Step 3: PLANTING
You have dirt, the time is right, now put two and two together! Seed packets will have a recommended planting depth on them for how deep and how well spaced the seeds should be. This is generally pretty easy, just follow the directions and don't overthink it. Water well once you've got the seeds in. Seeds need to be kept moist but not muddy until they are seedlings, or plants with their first true leaves, about an inch or two tall. Try to pay attention to your seeds once or twice a day. More often is very unnecessary, less than every day means you might let them dry out, and then your seeds will be dead and you'll have nothing but a nice pile of carefully prepared dirt to show for it.
If you have problems with squirrels or other pests (like a dog that likes to dig), you may need to put a barrier around where you put your seeds to keep them from being dug up or flung. Chicken wire is great, but any decent post and barrier can make an impromptu fence - dowel rods, sticks from a nearby tree, and old fabric, plastic sheeting, that painting drop cloth you forgot about, the heavy brown paper you put down when you eat crabs. You will likely only have it up for a couple weeks, until your seedlings are big enough that clandestine diggers won't bother them, so don't worry about the longevity of the thing.
Then, be patient. Some plants take three weeks to come up. Some only take days. And as it's cool, if you started them outside, expect it to take longer. If you're speeding things up, start your seeds inside where it's warm -- heat usually makes the process go faster. However, be kind putting your indoor seedlings out -- they aren't used to bright light, brisk winds, or the cold, so you may have to spoil them a little by putting them outside an hour or two a day for a week before putting them outside permanently. Plants, like people, can shock in a new environment. Sometimes they recover, sometimes not.
Step 4: GROW, BABY, GROW
If you have developed some kind of star wars Force powers that let you grow things faster, by all means, teach me. If you haven't, then now is the time to look at the little guys longingly while wishing them to be larger. Wish really, really hard.
You are probably going to need to thin your plants out at a certain point, before they get too crowded to grow well. Lettuce, pea, and spinach thinings can be taken in and devoured as baby greens. Others can be disposed of, or re-planted in more pots or land if its available. Now is when you get your neighbor into gardening, using free plants like casinos have free giveaways.
Also, you may find your first pests coming out to say hello. I have a particular loathing for slugs, but there's a wide variety of other things that may visit your garden to partake of your harvest, including deer, rabbits, groundhogs, squirrels, beetles, worms, mosquitoes, caterpillars, and two-legged thieves. There are things to be done about these, but they're best dealt with once you know it's a problem. Other things to look forward to might include butterflies, moths, ladybugs, fireflies, bees, and wasps (although thankfully, typically not yellow jackets, which prefer literal garbage to a garden). Again, deal with them as they come. You will never have to deal with ALL the pests at one time (statistically speaking).
Step 5: ENJOY!
The "time to harvest" is a good piece of information that should be on your seed packet. Some crops will take until fall to mature, some, only a few weeks. These estimated times are from germination to harvest, not from planting to harvest, so again, be patient. Things that you could be eating within a month or two are spinach, radishes, lettuce, spring onions, and other greens. Things you could be eating in two-ish months are beans, peas, beets, even more greens, and maybe a couple baby carrots if you're really, really lucky. MOST other crops will take longer than that, which means in an ideal situation you will be out in the real world again, your gardening adventure forgotten, and covid-19 a distant unpleasant memory.
However, if you're thinking of giving up on those crops, give it another think. Lots of our vegetable picking help is dependent on labor that is imported, illegal, or temporary. I don't expect fresh vegetable prices to go down this year -- if anything, it's going to skyrocket due to a labor shortage. I remember zucchini being 89 cents a pound in season. Now we have them all the time, but they're $2.49 a pound year round and $1.89 if you're lucky. I know how much zucchini produce if you're having a good year, and $1.89 in season is ridiculous.
Also, as a P.S.A., home grown food doesn't necessarily taste better, but it will taste more and be better for you. My lettuce is more bitter, but it actually has a flavor instead of being crunchy water, and home harvested plants are known to be higher in nutrition, possibly because the plants aren't overfertilized to grow fast like in a commercial setting. That being said, the luxury plants of gardening are mind-blowingly good versus the store bought things. Strawberries ripened on your porch, in the sun? Perfection. A good home-grown one will perfume a room.
Step 6: NETWORKING

TL;DR Put plants in good dirt in a sunny spot, follow packet directions, keep 'em damp, and be patient. You'll be fine.

So after my last post I decided to completely rebuild my Fallout New Vegas mod list following an online guide. Everything works perfectly fine this time around and it runs pretty stable. I have Nevada Skies installed for some nice weather effects but I noticed that sometimes it can get a little crazy. I wanted to tweak some of the options but I don't know how to do this? I don't see a dedicated tab in the Mod Configuration Menu nor do I have an item in my inventory to change the weather settings. Can someone help me out with this small issue? I know about some mods in my game being somewhat 'wonky' (Open Strip for example) but it works fine and they are not the issue I suppose. My load order is as follows:

Hey guys, Bagel here with another year's guide on how to get ahead in HUT early.
I'm leaving for a European vacation tomorrow so I'll be offline for the next 2 weeks and I won't even be back until NHL 20 is already out on EA Access. Best of luck to everyone this year hunting the HUT news leaks and the early grind.
Let me preface this guide with some definitions:
EA Access = The time from September 5th until September 10th
Early Access = The time from September 10th - September 13th
General Release = September 13th
Bagel's NHL 19 Guide
Most of this guide from last year still rings true. Nearly all of my predictions were correct in terms of what was good to sell, hold, or buy.
With NHL 20, I predict the same will be true. Any high end cards will increase in value from EA Access time through around September 15th. It's important to hold on to any pack pulls or market snipes for high end cards during EA Access and Early Access. A common misconception is to sell everything ASAP, but what happens year after year is more coins enter the market as players get online and play the game, so high end players prices actually go up in price since their demand goes up and inflation occurs for the coins in circulation.
So, you're probably wondering what exactly is a high end card at launch? Let's use NHL 19 as an example of what cards were really good to pick up early due to their price going up each day as more coins enter the market. You'll want to follow these simple principles on deciding what's a high end card:

• Synergies: Does the player have a team synergy that boosts skating speed or shot accuracy? He'll be worth more than others.
• Position/Stats: Right handers tend to sell for more because there's more left handed options. Do they also have a good faceoff rating? Do they have good shot accuracy? Do they have high speed/acceleration/agility? All these tend to raise a players price.

Now that we know what to look for in cards early in the year, what are some examples of amazing starter cards to use or invest in from NHL 19? The best rule of thumb is to invest in the cards that you think people would want. People like the superstars like Crosby, Ovechkin, McDavid and the legends like Forsberg, Yzerman, Howe etc. so if those cards have the popular team synergies that makes them even more popular.

1. Paul Coffey. There's a reason why I made this meme back in September last year. It's because he was hands down the most stand out card in the beginning of NHL 19. He had it all: speed, shot, checking, durability, agility, etc. and it was in a department that had very few options: LHD. If you were lucky, you could find him for around 150k during EA Access or Early Access and he quickly went up to the 300k price range from general release onwards for months.
   
2. Tyler Seguin He had BU for his synergy, he was right handed, and he had very good stats in key areas. He maintained a nice price tag for most of the starter months.
   
3. Voracek, Ehlers, Gilmour, Cournoyer, etc. All had BU and decent stats in key areas so people always wanted them.
   

How should you spend your time during EA Access and Early Access?
I'd recommend participating in the exclusive EA Access/Early Access competitive seasons. Just by qualifying you get access to free pack rewards.
I'd also recommend completing as many challenges and milestones as possible. These help build a coin stack and will also give you a lot of free packs which can help build up your team.
Online will be a skill-level matchmaking mess in the beginning of the game. Everyone will be in division 10, so the matchups will be all over the place. Don't expect to win every game like you did in the Summer with NHL 19. A lot of veterans come out from Summer retirement and dominate online early each year. Just learn and enjoy the game!
Buying packs: I'll plug this repost concerning the casino effect. If you want to buy packs, do so at your own discretion. It's by far the easiest and best way to get ahead early with a coin pile, especially at the beginning of the year when the average coin value of each pack is at its highest and everything is in demand.
In conclusion

2009 was a grand year. I am 23 years old, will turn 24 late in the year. I am starting to settle down on the drugs and alcohol (not completely but a bit). I log a lot of hours and am playing at my peak level.
There wasnt much in early 09 I can remember. So I will jump to the late spring/early summer. This would be known as “The Summer of the Israelis!”
As best as we were told this is what happened. A very wealthy Israeli man gets ahold of Carbon and wants to play online. Which is illegal in Israel. So Carbon obliges. This wealthy man wants to basically run his own Israeli group. So Carbon accepts massive deposits from this guy and this guy dishes money out to generic accounts that his friends used. All of the usernames were like Momo324 or Momo474. It was blatantly obvious who was Israeli and who was not. There is now dozens if not hundreds of Israelis playing decently big stakes and some were playing nosebleeds and they were all awful. Just fucking awful.
This would be the only time I break strict BRM (after the JERRY2009 incident, fwiw I play Jerry a lot more after that he holds his own but I am winner on him). The Israelis were dragging us up to 10knl. There would be 9handed 10knl games with up to three Israelis on them. I sat those games occasionally. I should have sat them more looking back on it. My roll at this point is 200k~ and I keep 100k on Carbon and cash out excess whenever there is some (basically I had strings of checks pending at all times) so 10k wasnt exactly a comfortable loss. I only log 1k~ hands at that stake and I win a couple buy ins at most. I look back at is as a shot I should have taken more, never has there been softer 10knl online. Scout326 (google if unaware of this guy) was better than a lot of these Israelis.
My friends made great money that summer. I did too. When it was dying down a bit I had a 300k roll. Made 100k in a matter of 3-4 months. This would draw some legitimate players into Carbon though. There was always more competition after this event but it was still the best site I was playing.
I email Poker Stars at some point in 2009 asking to be unbanned and provide details of what I am doing on other sites. They oblige and give me my account back.
I grind a bit on there but the games are just not as soft. I book small win rates in FTP and PS cash games. Under 3bb100 when I was doing 2-4x that on Carbon. Was much less stressful on Carbon also. Stars and FTP were mentally draining. Was a lot of really good players at 1knl. So I basically just play Sundays on the big sites and mix games or stuff just for change of pace.
At some point in 2009 I am on a big skid on FTP and have literally 1,061$ in account. I am not going to reload it as I honestly hated FTP. FTP had the smallest average win rates of all sites that were tracked (PTR or Sharkscope/OPR the studs of online and win rates were about 70% of Stars win rates). Now logically this is not crazy as FTP was a tougher field than Stars. Stars had more players and the bulk of people who play multiple sites are competent. I have some data that I think proved FTP is goofy. I want to conceal my usernames in this story but here is what I can show you easily. If you look at high volume MTT players, go back to OPR and dig through results. Wins come in bunches. In an earlier part of this story I mentioned I went 1-1-X-2 in the Sunday 200$ Horse MTT on FTP, then dont cash it for a year? I have looked through my MTT history on FTP and when I win one tourney I almost always have two more top 2 finishes on the same day or next day. DuckU wins back to back Sundays majors on FTP which is insane (he was a stud though).
Now for the final thing that made me hate FTP. This is gonna branch off into a lovely story about my mom. She wants to learn how to play poker so I give her a secondary FTP account I made which dons the same username as my Carbon name, so I keep it concealed. I dont have sharkscope so I cant go reverify the info but she plays almost exclusively 3$ 90 man KOs. She is a terrrrrible poker player. She color tags every single player she plays with with a base color and changes the color if necessary if she likes or dislikes you. The color tags are nothing poker related, and everything like or dislike related. Aggressive players were disliked because they raised her (or people who beat her in a pot). Passive fish were liked (they never raise her) and everyone else was just the neutral color she chose. My mother plays several thousand of these (I had to xfer her money soooo many times) and loses at an impressive rate. However, if you do detailed searches on those 90 mans an odd statistic is seen. She had considerably more first place finishes than ANY other position at the final table. Which is odd, shes brutally bad (sorry mom). I will say that I in no ways ever thought or think any poker site is rigged for anyone. All sites were beatable. The best players win the money, I just think FTP had a boom switch and doom switch I suppose but nothing was aimed at anyone specifically (I guess the claim would be fish gotta eat too to want to keep playing, fate was given artificially on FTP sometimes, I say this as someone who won a good chunk of money on there over my life)
Ok back to having 1,061$ in my account after a big downer on there. Havent cashed any MTT of substance in a while. I dont play much cash on there. Its Monday and I register the 1k Monday. Usually a 300-400 player field.
I remember nothing of the early tourney or even mid tourney but I remember a couple hands from the final table. (Yea I register for total account balance and FT)
6 or 7 handed and I had been card dead, blinding away. I open rip KQhh in early for like 10bb and guy behind rips his 20bb and a big stack jams over that. So we are all in 3 ways.

And just like that I am 30~ bb deep and back in the mix. The 99 busted so I jump a level too.
I have a friend who plays for a living who railed that FT who still brings that hand up. Wont ever forget that hand I dont think, just absurdly dead on flop.
We get down to 3 handed and I open button with J8cc bb defends get a J high flop and I end up stacking my 20bb~ to J9 for 3rd place. Was 39k. Not bad result for case money. I remember sending pic of my account balance to a friend after registering and it was like 89 cents or something.
Some time after that my FTP account crossed over 100k but I dont recall how. I think I had a bit of a cash heater and some marginal scores in MTTs along with trading money from other sites. Just remember having 100k on two different sites which I thought was cool as every dime I ever made from poker stemmed from selling playchips on Stars years earlier.
Pretty late in 09 I move into a nice apartment and for the first time in my life buy a nice vehicle. I was driving the same truck I had in highschool (a 98 ford f150 extended cab with 300,000 miles on it with original motor) and needed a new one badly. So i buy a 2007 F150 loaded up with every feature available (was still a used truck) for 25,000$. This was the moment I felt I had made it to be honest. It felt really good making that purchase. I squander money at the bars (a trip to the bar never cost less than 500$ buying shots and shit. My friends were all day laborers basically so I gladly bought round after round of shots, wasnt really showing off I just wanted to have a good time) and on stupid stuff like RC airplanes that I wreck first flight, telescopes, hockey gear etc but I never bought anything that made me flashier, this truck was the first purchase that did that.
Late in 09 I am at a local casino on the weekend of a 1600$ mtt. Get hammered drunk (live poker was still just a vacation for me) and lose like 10k. The next day I play that MTT. Bag. The next day we come back and I go on a tear and make FT as chip leader. Continue that tear literally making zero mistakes, everything I did was right. Obviously ran well as thats how you do everything right, but I made a few good folds a few 3b/4b/5b with air that were successful, just everything lined up. I win 80k which made me feel better about the 10k I fucked off on that Friday. It remains the only MTT score live of over 25k. I dont play a ton of them, just when they are local and I skip plenty. Id prefer to just play cash forever where I get no tax forms. After this tournament I am at my peak roll basically. I am just shy of a 400k roll when I peak. Had I been disciplined with my money and put more hours in earlier who knows where I would have been. I would guess at this point in my life I had made 700k playing poker, I spent stupid amounts of money had a few pit spews just was reckless in general.
2010 starts off with a trip down under. Aussie Millions is where I was headed. I had won a seat on Carbon. I pack a bag, grab 25,000 in cash, head to the airport and am on my way.
Flying to Australia is a bit of a trip. My flight route went Tulsa to Denver to LAX then to Melbourne. I departed LAX at 10PM on Thursday to show up in Melbourne early Saturday around 9AM. 17~ hour flight and from Oklahoma a 17 hour time difference, forward. Lose a day and a half on that flight. I had taken a few xanax with me for the long flight and had a drink or two right as the flight took off and passed out. I was sitting in a row of 3 seats on the right side of the plane next to a good looking young Australian couple who were headed back from an American vacation. I had the aisle seat (there was a ton of leg room though) and I literally fall asleep an hour ish into flight and wake up at a later time. My contacts were stuck to my eyes from the sleep, could barely open my eyes and I look over and ask them how far out we were. They said “the captain just came on and said were about half an hour out”. Sweet... I slept for like 15 fucking hours, yay xanax, the first time ever drinking and xanax ever did me any good.
I get to my hotel which is a block or two from the Crown Casino and I walk down to take a look. A couple 5-10 seats were open and I hand them some cash and they say I have to exchange for Aussie Dollars. This was right after the recession and the exchange rate at that time was strong for Australia. I think they were 93 cents on the dollar.
I play some cash for a few days. I drink excessively every day. One day at a 10-20 game I am at the table with LuckyChewy BalugaWhale and several other studs (they have zero clue who I am nor need they know) but my drunken self tries to set up a prop bet. I wanna bet 5000$ that I can have a cocktail every half hour for 12 hours and book a win in the game we were at. No one wanted it (I was drunk and they likely wanted me to leave them alone, they were all buddies it seemed).
So my bad ass self decides to just do it anyways. About 6-7 hours in I am pretty fucking drunk and up like 12-13k and my 14-15k stack was made involving 9 1,000$ chips. I remember getting bored of the game that had turned nitty and started putting those 9k chips in without looking. Did it back to back hands and no one called. The third hand I look at AJo and rip the 9 1k chips in the pot again (I kinda remember thinking that this was a value rip after the previous two hands. As if someone would just pile in A8 lol) and a guy with 6-7k calls off. He has QQ and holds.
This session that I was up 12,000~ ends up felting my cash for the trip. Literally go from 12k winner to 20k loser (I was down 5k on trip from playing the 5k HU tourney).
Fortunately for me my aunt was flying down with her girlfriend (yea shes a lesbian) in two days so I called my sister had her get 25k out of my safe give it to my aunt and she would bring me some cash. The next two days I play online in my hotel room. My aunt shows up a couple days later and were back in action!
I end up drinking relentlessly and losing most of that 25k. I busted the 10k main level one barreling three streets with air. I played excellent in Australia to say the least. Probably some of the least disciplined behavior I have ever exhibited. I was in one of the most unique countries on earth for 15 days and never made it more than a mile from the casino and the only reason I made it a mile was I met up with some chick who was an exchange student at my highschool and was from Melbourne (dont worry she wasnt cute). (As a matter of fact I was highly disappointed with the quality of the women in Melbourne).
The only other things worth telling from that trip was escorts were legal, I am pretty sure the strip clubs didnt allow you to tip money to girl on stage (only buy dances) and you couldnt tip the poker dealers. A funny story about the escorts. I hire one one night. I had done this in Vegas a time or two but was always shitfaced when I had done it. I do it sober in Australia. She meets me and I am thinking what the fuck am I doing. Was weird for me. Barely mess around (brief bj was peak) and I am like I cant do this. I felt bad about paying for sex. So I give her 800$ for nothing basically. Just weirded me out knowing how bad that life is. Drunk me would never had a second thought, but sober me did.
I head home stuck 45k or something. Was a bad trip to say the least. This is about the point where things start trending down for me. Im not long after having a 400k roll (I am still near that at this point) and having a massive year (2009 I won over 250k) but some future events will set in motion my downfall, and not hard to predict Black Friday will be part of it. I have over 100 mods on my current playthrough of new vegas, and I am on a quest line called "A Golden Ticket". I am having trouble completing it, and tried to look up information online, but I can't figure out what mod its from. A significant amount of google searches revealed nothing, so if anyone knows which mod this quest belongs to, and could let me know that would be awesome. And I'm not playing TTW.

What happened between you and Sam Grizzle?	Sam Grizzle!?! Sam has always been one of the funniest guys in the poker world: huge personality! One day he asked me to save him a seat in a game while he went to eat. After 90 minutes, I made the casino stop taking his $9 every 30 minutes, cause so much time had passed, AND then he shows up and the game is full, DOH! So he wants to fight me...I say, well you better do it this week while my back is out, and suddenly I'm in my first and only fist fight ive ever had in the poker world! We both land punches, but next day not a mark on either of us (BEST FIGHT EVER cause no one was hurt).
Could you have done more to help recover player's money on Ultimate Bet? What do you think of Russ Hamilton? What were your thoughts about the superuser scandal at UB? Are you still good friends with Greg Pierson? What cable networks can one find PokerCentral?	I was proud to have had a big role in forcing an investigation at UB, which led to $25 million being returned to the players. People said I should have left the site, and that would have been easy to do as I was wanted by Full Tilt. But I saw another pro get haunted for years because the site he repped DID NOT pay the players back. Staying was the right move, and I was happy when the players were paid back. I was also happy when evidence emerged a few years later that made it clear that I wasn't aware of what was happening. The poker world stuck by, but the evidence was nice and completely shut up the haters.
Hi Phil. What's the future for online poker in the US? Should there be one?	Legalized online poker is coming; 100%! It is simply a question of when...Amazingly, one person has stopped legalized online poker: one person! Mr Sheldon Adelson: and he spends $100 million every year funding politicians...However, David Baazov (poker big hope) is fighting hard, and effectively, for legalization. I'm hoping for full legalization in California, and then many of us, and the experts, believe it will spread accross the USA.
Do you realize your constant name dropping on twitter is annoying? why do you do it? although you come across as an alpha do you suffer from little man?	Put yourself in my shoes for one second. When you're lucky enough you hang out w great people, are you NOT supposed to talk about it? People tweet about what they do, who they hang out with, etc...And I'm lucky to hang out w great people. How in the the hell do you deal with those beats where you are 90%+ with just the river left and wind up getting busted...well besides the obligatory bitching and moaning?	Obviously I whine too much because I'm the Poker Brat!
	But I try really hard to NOT let any bad luck I have at the tables affect me away from the tables. I have gotten better and better at this over the years, but I'm sure my wife will tell you i was bad at this in my twenties and thirties. I don't want that stuff to impact my relations w my friends and family in a negative way...
Is it true you started playing poker (and winning) against your college professors?	Yes, I did play against two professors at the Univ of Wisconsin way back in 1984! In that game, we also had Psychiatrists, lawyers, and doctors. None of them were under the age of 40, and I was 20. Each was a professional w multiple degrees, I was an undergrad. But i'm pretty good at this thing we call "Poker"
How did this come about? Did one of your professors just invite you to their weekly poker game? I'd love it if this happened to me haha.	I started in the smaller games at UW, at the Memorial Union, and as I crushed that game, then I found the bigger games, until I made it into the "Docs game." I once won $2,700 in one night in that game, in about 1985! Seemed like a fortune to me then!
Hey Phil, do you feel that the live poker scene has improved as a result of Black Friday? Would you actually prefer to keep things the way they are now, or would you rather see online play legalized tomorrow?	It is better for the poker world w online poker up and running in the USA. More people, more players, more endorsement money, more television. Bigger is better!
	As to the effect it has had on the live poker scene, i am sure that all of these players are ready for another massive influx of players. Poker needs legalized online poker in the USA.
Are there any elements of the game that you enjoy which the average person wouldn't think about (due to not having as much experience as yourself)?	Yes, the element of figuring things out that others do not see. I'm not as sharp as the characters from the "Mentalist" or "Sherlock Holmes," but I see things in everyday life that others do not, and I enjoy that. I keep my prism wide open, and sometimes I need 10 hours of sleep a night or more because of it.
Are you still friends with Matusow? Where has he been?	Love Mike the mouth! He is OK. He survived a life threatening surgery on his back, and he is still playing high stakes poker, mostly in San Diego...Good guy, good heart, despite what it looks like on television...

How has the game changed for the better and for the worse since online play has become less prominent? (We played together in Event 3 of the 2009 series, PLOH. Thanks for doing this.)	Great question! Sadly, the poker world in the USA has shrank a bit (not too much). With entries down at the WSOP from the good old days, a lot less television (I miss Poker After Dark), and less sponorship deals for US players. However, the rest of the world has seen a lot less shrinkage.
It was really cold, okay?! Also, Rounders 2? Are you involved in the talks? What is actually going on there, if you know?	I talked to the writer of Rounders, Brian Koppleman, on his show. And was pretty sure Rounders II was going to get made. Rounders did $150 million on DVD, so why not?
