gta casino heist multiplayer - win

Rockstar and Take2: Here's some reasons you missed out on immense amounts of money by not architecting dedicated servers into your multiplayer setup

To bring everyone up to speed on network topology in games:
GTA Online uses what's called a peer-to-peer mesh network setup. This means that every PC/console on a connected session is talking to every other PC/console in that session. The preferred alternative for most multiplayer games is sever-client, where in every PC/console is talking with a single server.
With p2p mesh, this means that everyone shares authority. What this translates to is that a server is not the single authority checking for malicious activity, much of which anyone who has played GTA Online for is familiar with. This also means that anyone with the know-how can figure out what IP every other person is connecting from. This can lead to other malicious activity outside of the game.
But standing up dedicated servers costs money. Why not avoid that?
There are plenty of cases to be made where peer-to-peer connectivity makes sense, especially from a cost-savings perspective. But in some cases, like GTA Online, the benefits/gains from using a server-client setup far outweigh the costs.
So, in no particular order:

What Dedicated Servers Would Have Brought to RS/T2:

More purchases of cash in the Social store.
We'll start with the obvious here. When someone can get into a game and ask about [redacted method of obtaining money] and get a response 50% of the time, it's an obvious miss on being able to purchase prepaid in-game credit cards from the store. There's no incentive. And if they don't want to ask someone to do it, they can do it themselves.
Higher volume of Twitch streamers.
It seems easily correlated, but Twitch's research shows that livestreaming leads to better game sales. The reason this isn't streamed as broadly is because not everyone can get enough reliable people for a heist. Private sessions can be invaded by the same people who also [redacted method of obtaining money]. This is regardless of the privacy of a lobby, because those same people can find a unique identifier on the public Rockstar social site and join it, regardless of whether or not they're a friend or a crew member-- or simply not invited.
What this translates to are people who have such a low bar to pass to join a streamer's game and hold the experience hostage, crash the session or do any other number of malicious things. They can also impersonate people and send messages as them. So this further leads to things like not being able to do:
Twitch Rivals streams between competing streamer teams.
Imagine this: the game is pretty solidly protected from people who [redacted method of obtaining money] and those incidents they generate are rare, and when they do pop up, they're punished. So, streaming this game is far more viable. Competitive crews start forming, and Rockstar promotes an event with streamers where they're able to host lobbies and get 24, 36 or even 48 streamers in one session running 12 different crews for things like:
And so on and so forth. But because items have to be obtained through legitimate game mechanics, it also implements a grind. Maybe these groups/crews have been running for a while. But then you'd also be able to do:
Streamer Drops through Connected Accounts
We've seen other games do this, where viewers can get "drops" into their game by watching the streamer play it. These drops could have been literally anything that was on the Diamond Casino Wheel of Fortune. It could have even been a bonus spin at the wheel, to encourage getting the player in the game.
The Long-Term, Sharded MMO Experience
This translates to cash because people would be continually playing the game, which means more people paying for in-game cash and general popularity because more people would be streaming it, but this is the bigger buyback to the player, too.
Imagine a crew that worked hard at completing a certain set of heists on hard difficulty, no deaths, consecutive. Four people who are streaming their attempt like people do for raid bosses. And their reward was a unique yacht only available for them.
A ranked arena war system that awarded players who got 100 wins with a unique vehicle or livery.
The system could have been adjusted to make some things a grind. Making that money with friends, and then knowing that if someone had a high-end apartment, much less a casino penthouse, that they earned it through blood, sweat and hard work.
Powerful crews that were running around and happen to land on the same lobby and an all-out war with tactics, reinforcements and a consideration of cash drain to get the win in Los Santos.
These are the things that Rockstar and Take2 missed out on by not having dedicated servers with protections against [redacted method of obtaining money]. They were on the verge of greatness. They were this close. And I know that a lot of this translates over for Red Dead Online, too.

Is It Too Late to Do All of This?

No, I don't think so. If RockstaTake2 were to seek redemption from this, here's what they'd have to do:
Implement a dedicated server gamemode, and only allow characters created for this game mode specifically.
If people want to continue messing around in peer-to-peer sessions, maybe they allow that for a time before slowly forcing people over (because it's all about that money, right?). But create a new character (or duplicate the looks of one), and make it only available for play on controlled, dedicated servers.
You can even put Ye Olde GTA 5 spin on it and have Lester come in and say, "Yeah, I know the simulation was pretty fucked, right? It got hacked by kids on Christmas break. But anyway, now that you know what's possible out there in this stupid, god-forsaken world, well... uh, perhaps it's time we started making some money. And you remember Fleeca, right?"
Then people start off fresh, and work on earning things through the grind. I promise you, that'll net you some untold money and viewership. And I have faith enough that even if you made a very solid push into authoritative client-host conversion from peer-to-peer mesh, allowing the authoritative client-host to be controlled by Rockstar servers, you'd get something out of it.
And I will put a disclaimer on here: I don't know if the game engine is so archaic that it wouldn't allow for this kind of change. And if that is indeed the case, then the only thing that I can say is you missed out on all of the above by choosing to design what you did, because it is a proprietary engine.
But if you can, imaginary Rockstar or Take2 directory reading this, please, I implore you. Push for the change. This has been one of the best social games for me during lockdown, and I can't overstate how much everyone will benefit from this.
Sincerely,
~The Village Idiot

Mircrotransactions > DLC

Now before I start I'm going to lay down some ground rules. Acceptable microtransactions are either a. Cosmetic or pay to win. Most items (not big items that are flexes) in an ideal pay to win should be achievable with a grind time of less than 10 hours at peak grind. This is true for most things.
GTAV is an amazing example of microtransactions done right. They've made bucketloads of cash yet everyone can enjoy the game oh so easily. Want the most expensive item in the game? Just grind the casino heist 5 times at a total grind time of 8 hours roughly. Because of this pay-to-win system, GTA V gets more free DLC than oh so many games.
Now look at a typical DLC game: in a story game it's less impactful as you're just getting story. But in a multiplayer game such as BF1, there's so many games locked behind DLCs. In all, microtransactions as they are cosmetic or grindable with an optimal grind at 10 hours are perfect. Better than DLC.

Cayo Perico / End of 2020 De-Brief

Hello everyone, happy new year!
With recent release of Cayo Perico but not much else I wanted to touch base with the community holding out for GTA Online in Liberty City or Vice City, and debrief from the Cayo Perico DLC.
Even though Cayo Perico came out unexpectedly (to us), it is a small but welcome addition to the GTA Online world.
I believe that we still have reason to cling onto hope that that Liberty City will sooner rather than later, and Cayo Perico is a stepping stone to that demonstrating the map expansions are possible.
While I no longer think that we will see a remastered city come this generation of console, but we still have GTA V "Expanded and Enhanced" coming in 2021 which may have much more than just GTA V itself.

Reasons why I think that GTA V "Expanded and Enhanced" is more than just GTA V with updated graphics

  1. GTA V XB1 & PS4 versions already work fine in XBSX/XBSS/PS5. It looks and runs great, similar to a PC level of detail/performance. Why would a significant update be needed if it will be much the same if they didn't have big plans on top of that?
  2. Cayo Perico proves that Rockstar's idea of "Expanded" can mean land expansion
  3. Cayo Perico sounds like it was more a like a side project during COVID-19 WFH than something in the works for a long time. It is not unreasonable to think that Rockstar, with all their global studios now merged together, haven't been working on something big since the bulk of RDR2 was finished.
Source: https://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/culture/article/gta-online-cayo-perico-heist
  1. Why are they being so vague about the details, even to go as far as using a PS3 trailer for it... are they doing this because they are hiding something? Even being so far to be anticlimactic to take off the pressure from fans, and surprise us later.
What Cyberpunk 2077 has taught the overall gaming community lately is what happens when you overpromise and underdeliver. However Rockstar already learnt this lesson back in 2015 when they promised Heists in GTA Online, which kept being reworked and delayed until near the end of the PS3/360 generation and copped a lot of criticism for it.
Basically every social media comment was "Where are the Heists", fans were frustrated. From that time onwards they never released details until about 2 weeks out from launch for a DLC. RDR2 was a bit longer, but only because they had other partners to consider. For this they originally gave it 1 year from announcement to release date, but it was delayed to 2 years, with PC one more year after that (which also wasn't even announced until one month before that).
Here is a quote about what went wrong with Heists:
We aren’t ready to give an official release date yet, but we are confident they will be ready early in 2015. As you may have read on IGN, Heists were a much bigger challenge to create than we had originally anticipated. Early versions were simply not good enough and had to be scrapped more than once as we honed in on how we thought they should work. We’re happy to say that the pack we are now finalizing is something we are excited by and eager to release as soon as it is ready. We, as a company, have always been about trying to make something that is good rather than hitting a date. We apologize when this gets frustrating but firmly believe that rushing out second-rate content does not do anyone any favors. Hopefully you agree that yesterday’s new Trailer is a sign that Heists are shaping up nicely, but we still need some time to fine tune them. Because we need a little time to get Heists right, we are going to give you a small Christmas gift to keep you entertained until we are done with them.

Reasons why I think something related to Liberty City is most likely to be the next major GTA Online expansion to come

  1. GTA IV & EFLC is highly regarded as a masterpiece, it's fanbase is still strong - many still prefer it to GTA V for a variety reasons, so it is a good candidate for a remaster. They can always make the GTA IV car physics, ragdoll, etc. come back again, perhaps as a user configurable option. Having the map there is the gateway to bringing these highly valued games back to a new generation.
Their games always start with the map, source: https://www.mcvuk.com/development-news/inside-rockstar-north-part-1-the-vision/
  1. The availability of GTA IV is terrible. It is only a Backwards Compatibility title on Xbox One (non Enhanced), runs like rubbish on PC - performance wise (and multiplayer is now removed), and the PS4 & PS5 doesn't have it at all. Most other GTAs are available for purchase, at least on Mobile.
  2. GTA V is now 7 years old and the GTA fanbase is now bigger than ever thanks to GTA V & Online. A lot of new fans haven't had the opportunity to experience GTA IV because of the above availability issue. The new fans are desperate for a new (to them) GTA game, especially since it doesn't look like GTA6 is coming any time soon. Or maybe I'm wrong and 6 is coming soon as well?
  3. GTA Online is progressively getting new content referencing to Liberty City or content ported from Liberty City (i.e The Tugboat, QUB3D), so they are not above re-using GTA IV assets or dropping hints.
  4. It is clear that they have been taking the "lazy" route as far as making new content for GTA Online DLCs by re-using existing assets. Don't get me wrong there is still a lot of work involved, but still it is less work than starting from scratch.
But it would make sense that they will continue their more recent M.O. to re-use existing assets rather than start from scratch to save time, effort and cost.
  1. With high profile departures of the writers such as Leslie Benzies, Dan Houser & Lazlow there is no doubt going to be a brain drain. I'm sure they were working on stuff before their departures, and I'm sure that RockstaTake-Two with all their billions of dollars will be able to find other top talent to bring GTA into a new era, but this will take time, and they can get things out in the meantime. The story of GTA IV, Map & other assets are already made, so this gives them a head start to put out games while they rediscover their Mojo to make GTA6 using new talent.
  2. GTA Online is a Big Money Maker, it will make the GTA IV & ELFC remaster worth it because the remastered map will be used for both GTA IV & Online: LC (maybe slight map differences according to time period).
  3. Why did they put so much effort into issuing cease and desists to OpenIV team for OpenIV's LCinV project (even though it used original game files, no piracy) if they weren't planning on doing something in this space themselves.
  4. Cayo Perico aside (which is still quite small), Los Santos as the primary setting of GTA Online is still a bit stale after 7 years. They can't use 2013 Los Santos forever, surely. Not to mention that a new GTA release is already well overdue.

GTA IV Music Licensing speculation/hints

A little while back, a lot of music track licenses expired and they were pulled from the PC version, most notably Vladivostok FM was most affected with most songs removed.
They put in some new tracks to replace it, which wasn't quite as good but it seemed like that was as good as it's going to get.
But then they went ahead and relicensed the original tracks anyway so all the music is now restored again (about 16 months after being originally cut).
Why go though all that expense of relicensing all that music if they aren't planning to capitalise on it in a big way?

Cayo Perico speculation/hints

Not much here directly, but I have played with it a little bit.
The way that it's programmed is interesting. As far as I can tell, travel to the island is sharing a session with Free Mode rather than being a different game mode, which you can tell by seeing the player list stay the same as whoever is in the Freemode session you were in. There is no loading of a different game mode, it is just a cut scene. On PC you can even chat to people who are still in Los Santos.
When you look at the map, you are located South-East of LS (just past USS Luxington), and if you move the mouse you can get locations of LS show up, it's just the map itself which is hidden.
There is a glitch you can do to "free roam" the whole Island, or just go to the Beach Party standalone, it is clear that you are in Free Mode of an existing Los Santos based lobby.
When I was glitched, I was able to take a Dinghy back to LS, LS was visible. about halfway there, the whole Cayo Perico just de-spawned similar to how the USS Luxington does, and also the weathenight cycle changed instantly too.
When I was glitched but still on the Island, a whole bunch of functions were disabled like spawning cars, calling contacts, etc.
What this shows me is that perhaps they are experimenting with how integration with Future GTA Maps will look like.
Instead of loading a whole different game, or loading a different game mode, it could be one big Free Mode made up of all locations, the locations can not be directly accessed without triggering a cut scene, and the properties of how a Free Mode works can change depending on what location on the broader map you are in.
One challenge I anticipate is that they wouldn't want GTA$ earned in LS to be transferred to a totally new GTA Online area. It is well known that a lot of it glitched and they'd want us to start getting rich again. They have also been experimented with holding separate currencies such as Arena Points or Casino Chips. I could imagine that they come up with a storyline where all your GTA$ Cash gets deposited into Maze Bank but then can't be withdrawn to cash or moved to another bank, and in LC you are forced to use a competing bank like the Bank of Liberty. Basically LS = only get Maze Bank, LC = only get Bank of Liberty.
Cars/Planes etc. Can be not widely transferable (i.e. You MKII or Babushka holding a car has engine failure mid flight and crashes, or maybe you need to go to the Airport marker on food), and maybe some planes (i.e. Luxor) can enter on a visiting basis via. Cutscene of that vehicle but can't be saved at the destination into a personal hangar.

Final words

I hope this gives some good for thought.
Keep speculating! At least until we get some solid info
Here's to 2021.

Why are the GTA Online loads so long?

I was loading into a casino heist and the load is so long. I managed to poo, wipe, wash my hands, and get back on and it was still loading. It wasn’t a clean poo as well. Clearly not my internet’s fault seeing how I load in with every other multiplayer game I own well with no errors or long load times. It feels like GTA Online servers are powered by a bunch of obese people running on a hamster wheel. Not even running it’s like they’re walking and taking breaks every 30 seconds of walking.

Rockstar and Take2: Here's some reasons you missed out on immense amounts of money by not architecting dedicated servers into your GTA/RDR2 multiplayer setup

This is mostly written in the GTA Online perspective, though it has crossover into RDR Online as well.

Nevermind that the same group of people who can [redacted method of obtaining money/goods/vehicles/XP] will also just grief sessions. Better yet:
Better Control on Hackers/Modders
Anyone who is on the outside of RDR2 or GTA multiplayer has probably only heard telltale of what modders do in these games. Here's a list of what I've personally experienced:
The list goes on. The biggest reason for using dedicated servers, honestly, is to get rid of the griefers. It's enough so that I've seen people ask if someone is running a specific type of mod, and they know the commands to use to get gifted vehicles, cash, etc. It's prolific and horrible.
But cleaning those things up and preventing them means:
Higher volume of Twitch streamers.
It seems easily correlated, but Twitch's research shows that livestreaming leads to better game sales. Warzone lobbies

I wish there were lobbies with different balancing specifically for combat. You wouldn’t gain or lose popularity or supplies, you wouldn’t get raided, you wouldn’t have to worry about any money making activities

Money making/spending dynamic

It’s just one continuous battlefield. You destroy someone’s car, you don’t get charged. You cannot make money in the game mode by conventional means HOWEVER freemode competitions, distinctly different from the ones in multiplayer will allow you to
For instance if you have a K/D 1 full mark higher than everyone else in the lobby for a full 15 minutes, you get a 30k bonus, for 30 minutes it becomes 90k, or if you kill that person you get 25k. Just random rewards for getting kills or not getting killed.
Maybe every player would get objectives reset on the hour for how to get kills, like “kill a player with a vehicle, kill a player using a pistol at a range of greater than 50m, kill a player who’s using bull shark testosterone”
Completing each individual objective gives you some chump change but the player could earn maybe 80k for completing all 3 depending on player level.
Combat Mechanics
For this reason, after a while, you might want to call your mechanic for your kuruma for 21 points, or unlock access to lester for 20 points.

Progression

If this game mode had no progression it’d be pretty boring
I think the game shouldn’t have true progression like ranking up, but I think it’d be a good touch if players with the highest K/D get recognized at the end of the bonus week. Top 20 players get 10 million, top 1% get a million, top 10% get 200k, etc
With some other unique bonuses like everyone who gets top 1% unlocks a brand new livery, or top 5% earners get all of the optional preps for a casino heist completed, or they get to choose their next casino heist loot, maybe their next business upgrade is free.
The weeks bonuses would get announced on Twitter and would essentially be considered part of a weeks bonuses, maybe twitch prime users could even get additional benefits like if normal players only get optional preps skipped twitch prime players get all their setups skipped

Takes over an hour to quick play Casino Heist.

Nearly everytime i attempt to join a casino heist from my phone, 1 of 4 things happen:
  1. The host leaves lobby.
  2. I am kicked from lobby.
  3. Never load into lobby.
  4. Mission starts, host leaves.
Sometimes, when im hosting a heist, the lobby will abruptly close and a message will appear saying that the leader has left the heist.
Finnaly, after an untold number of attempts, the heist will start, although theres still a chance it will glitch.
Edit: CEO just left a nearly completed heist in which all parties were en route to the buyer. I've spent the last hour and a half trying to play this heist.
Sometimes, I think rockstars intentionally makes this game glitchty to make the grind more tedious. Smh.
Could also be due the fact that i change my mtu settings back and forth between 800 and 1500 a lot to sell in solos. But how/why would this affect online connection if mtu is at 1500?
Also, other online-multiplayer games have no connection issues.
Gta 5 could be the best game ever, but is actually the worst game ever.

Since we're talking about Mafia IV ideas, here is my concept for a 3-part Mafia IV set between 1977 and 1979.

I've had an idea for a Mafia IV that would be a 3-chapter game, with each one sold and released separately. They would take place in:
Chapter I - The Italian island of Sicily, with the large city of Vucciria (Palermo), as well as towns of Casbach (Mazara del Vallo) and Templi (Agrigento), plus the countryside. March 1977-October 1977.
Chapter II - The city of Las Platas, Aztec (Las Vegas, NV) and its metro area, as well as the Cañon Rojo (Red Rock Canyon) and Lake Draught (Lake Mead) areas, and the McHawkins Army Base. October 1977-May 1978.
Chapter III - Empire Bay, plus the coast of West Guernsey (New Jersey) with the towns of Trunk (Long Branch) and Westport (Atlantic City). February 1979-September 1979.
Story
New features:
-Players can watch fictional TV shows and news (think GTA IV/V, but more serious) on 2 different channels.
Vehicle list:

My GTA keeps crashing. I've tried everything.

Before the backstory, I'll tell you everything I've done up to this point. I have;

  1. Reinstalled GTA.
  2. Reinstalled my graphics drivers.
  3. Verified integrity of game cache.
  4. Set the priority of GTAV to HIGH in task manager.
  5. Disabled my Antivirus.
  6. Disabled background programs like GoogleDriveSync, Wallpaper Engine, etc.
  7. Lowered my Graphics Settings.
  8. Contacted Rockstar Support (Weren't really helpful as they told me to just reinstall it again).
  9. Downloaded GTA onto my SSD.
  10. Unparked my CPUs.
  11. Played in VSync.
  12. Not played in VSync.
  13. Replaced my thermal paste on both the GPU and CPU.
  14. Cleaned my Computer of dust and etc.

My Computer Specs:
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4 GHz
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 980M
RAM: 32GB DDR3
Storage: (2x 240GB SSD and 1x 2TB HDD)

Since the casino update, I've been experiencing random crashes after 15 or so minutes. Sometimes it happens after 5 minutes, sometimes it happens after an hour. It's completely random and it doesn't just happen in GTA Online. It happens in both Singleplayer and in Multiplayer. It's quite frustrating as I want to play with my friends, however I always ruin it for them when we are doing a heist or something and I get disconnected since my game crashes. I'm really desperate here because GTA is one of those games that I can just use stress free until the Casino Update.

Casino Heist is what I wanted in 2013 - its just so good

I used to play GTA Online at launch and I stopped after the first set of heists were released. They were challenging and some of the most fun I've had with multiplayer in a long while. But they were very linear and like all co-op content - once you experience it once it's real hard to want to visit it again.
I've returned a few months ago and the Diamond Casino Heist is now my fist heist upon getting back and: wow - BIG wow is this good.
- The setup missions are pretty fun and optional (with real consequences for doing and not doing them).
- They can be done with 2 to 4 players so it's flexible but it can be setup completely solo
- You get paid decent money! This is the biggest one for me. I am never expecting running missions to be more profitable than Nightclub AFK grinding or just bunkeMC sale grinding but when you can spend 2 hours to do some setups, then another 30 minutes to do a mission and walk away with 300,000-1.1M dollars that's just great, it feels like my time is being well spent.
- I want to repeat this heist. Something about being able to choose the three different setups, the many ways each setup can go down. Even if ultimately you go in and out the same comfortable exits each time the fact that it's so non-linear is just wonderful.
The more I think about the heist the more I like it. If all GTA Online mission content was like this from the get-go I don't think I'd take that 4+ year gap. I'm excited for GTA 6 online, I'm excited for more GTA Online content. Even if the next DLC is just some new racetracks and not a whole full blown heist - I can see myself hitting the Diamond Casino for years on end way more than I want to ever deliver that damned EMP again.

3-chapter Mafia IV concept.

I've had an idea for a Mafia IV that would be a 3-chapter game, with each one sold and released separately. They would take place in:
Story
New features:
Vehicle list - https://www.reddit.com/Mafia3/comments/8r58ga/mafia_iv_3chapter_concept_vehicle_list/
I'll later link to the radio concepts. I'm not a gun nut, so maybe make some suggestions for that.

Vehicle and Weapon ideas (and gameplay ideas)

Vehicles: The Tumbler (Batman): if the Batmobile is in Gta, I think it is possible for this to be In the game. The Tumbler wouldn't have a rocket boost BUT it could take WAY more abuse than the Vigilante and has a bigger Rocket capacity. Price: 3,500,000 Bluesmobile (Blues Brothers): if you're a fan of Blues Brothers, you'd probably agree with me I think the car would be really fast (and light) and would be able to jump like the Ruiner. Price: 1,850,000 Ecto 1: The car from Ghostbusters can have Nitro and can shoot Machine Guns and Rockets and automatically equips you with armor when you get in it. Price: 2,500,000 Weapons: Chainsaw: Has been in GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas and would be a cool Melee item to have. Flamethrower: same story with chainsaw. Explosive Sniper: for Freeplay not just in Gamemodes Tranquilizer: makes the opponent get the drunk effect for a short time and knocks out NPCS. Gameplay: Casinos: they were in GTA San Andreas and there's a Casino in GTA V. Do it Rockstar Robbable Fleeca banks: I know there's a heist where you Rob that bank but what if in free play you can Rob one but you'll get 4 stars and you're unable to call Lester Cops and Crooks: it was the best game mode in GTA IV multiplayer but didn't make a return Strip Clubs: there is only one strip club you can go to in GTA V but there are multiple unenterable strip clubs in game even if they were clone strip clubs can they make interiors for them that you can enter? Those were all my ideas I bet some won't happen but I also bet some WILL happen.

There should be a casino online like in GTA San Andreas.

I just think it would be fun for players to be able to play against each other inside a casino. It should be a seperate building that you enter where weapons and fighting are not allowed (like your apartpment/garage) that is a live lobby among many, not limited to players in the current session. So you don't need to wait, you're just assigned to a "lobby" at random and you can come and go as you please. Entering the building is then like a mission, in that you don't need to completely leave the session, but without the hassle of having to wait for other players to join the lobby. If all lobbys are full or all are empty, the player can chose between being 'on call' or creating a completely new lobby(I think it would be best for there to be a fixed number of lobbies that can be adjusted by Rockstar so that global matchmaking can be better integrated). The format of the games can be similar to the those presented in GTA San Andreas. There can also be higher end competitions that have a James Bondeque atmosphere to them. There is a seperate bar and strippers serve you drinks. There can also be a seperate heist addition that can play off of ocean's eleven by robbing this very casino.
The way I see it is that Rockstar should keep adding content into GTA online and improving the mechanics of the game. Instead of having to release an entire game at once from basically scratch, they can continuousley build and test new concepts within the same platform. GTA online is very unique in the sense of a sandbox multiplayer genre and they should definitley leverage their position which will in turn better them in the long run. Rockstar will earn more revenue from shark cards and encourage a more active community by adding new, fresh content that will captivate gamers attention and revolutionize multiplayer gaming.

GTA Online DLC Concept: LS Economy Update

This is my wish/concept DLC that would change GTA Online economy by adding new ways to earn money without robberys and repetative missions. We would be able to use other abilities than just shooting to become un-dependant. This update would also add new LS Customs features to alow players to further customise their sweet steel horses. There are also some new rides and clothing avalible to purchase around Los Santos and Blaine County.
Description (short, typically on R* Newswire): Bored of missions and heists? With this update everything will change. Use your skills to become leading business man/woman in LS! You can try yourself in buying and selling stocks at Bawsaq, create your business and hire employees, so you don't need to do the dirty work yourself. Earn credits (new currency; earned by doing special business work) to buy office or work from your new Business Room (new room added to High-End appartments, stilt houses and mansions*). Also, try your luck in a Casino in LS with Poker, Blackjack and Roulette. All of the Casino games are multiplayer, so stack up some of your best friends/employees and show them what'ya got!
Things that would be added in this update are:
  1. VEHICLES This DLC is centered around luxurious and futuristic cars. List of those comming are:
Note: If trying to search for a picture of a vehicle, please search for the latest model so you can see what I'm thinking about :)
  1. NEW WAYS TO EARN MONEY ARE:
  1. NEW MISSIONS/JOBS:
  1. NEW LS CUSTOMS MODS
  2. Engravings (players can now put their name or company's name on any car or bike. they can choose between 5 styles and gold, sliver, metal, chrome, matte or rustic colour)
  3. NEW PROPERTIES
  4. Mansions ($1mil to $2.5mil; Blain County, Vespucci beach, Del Perro, LS Centre, Vinewood hills...)
  5. Offices (every office has 5 or 10 car garage; every car that is parked by owner or employee of a Company can be used by all of Company's members. Also if it gets destroyed, Mors Insurance will take money from Company's Bank Account. Every car gets equiped with Company's logo (can be created at R*'s site).
  6. CLOTHING GTA DLC is not complete without appropriate clothes. Besides company's uniforms, work outfits, there are also plenty of luxurious new clothing added across LS. There are new scaves, designer clothes, gold purses... now every single true businessman can find something to wear for work.
Again, this is just my big big wish and it is not in any way connceted to leaks. Please let me know, what you think about my idea :) Thanks for your attention ;)

Any other in-game content foretelling DLC?

The theory: If it looks like they will eventually implement something, because they spent a lot of time creating models or artwork or trailers, they most likely will. This is the theory that has kept this sub going since before the game was , so lets document it in full.
NOTE: This post contains possible spoilers about future DLC
Current In-game content that fits this theory but waiting for trigger or new DLC
(This is the intro to the Alien DLC storyline which was left in the game along with the easter eggs to foretell about the future DLC/expansion. When the DLC is released OR the trigger is found, we will finally get a mission or series of missions containing the Asteroid crash, Chiliad/Children/Kraff/God?, Jetpack, alien egg(s), Zancudo vents, bunker, server room, UFO and other various elements. The mural depicts the easter egg being directly connected to the mountain UFO, which is the only visible tip of the iceberg of the mystery. The jetpack and "ufo with passenger" icons are not directly connected to the easter egg, they only connect through a series of [x] boxes which symbolize missing / removed content which will be filled in with DLC OR possibly unlocking 5 pieces of hidden content)
(They are static parts of the 3D model, and their texture is shared with the UFO, which is why you can see part of the word SEGREGATE on the left pilots leg. The pilots are entirely unfinished, hence the reason for the force field preventing close inspection. It's meant to be a sneak peek at an unfinished product. I'm excited to see these guys again November 18th.)
(After the mission Minor Turbulence, Ron says "the hardware may be salvaged with dive gear" to which Trevor replies "Good idea, but it will take time". This reply makes no sense. You can go get the supposed salvaged weapons right away after this mission (if we assume the collectible weapons on the sea floor near the wreckage are the "hardware"). But what if that assumption is wrong, and there is more hardware inside the fuselage which R* needs more time to create a DLC / storyline for? OR we are meant to come back much later, IE after 100% and triggering something.)
(Depicting past GTA characters & celebrities?)
(Unused so far)
(Unused so far)
("My Daddy.. Was not... Nice to me!" - Said right before killing Debrah and Floyd. Trevors mom is seen only after completing the main storyline, in a strangers mission called Mrs. Phillips. She is addicted to painkillers and mentions trying to find a man. Trevor goes to get her pills only to find her gone, and the storyline left open for more. While she only appears briefly, her appearance confirms Trevor may have a classic oedipus complex, where he wants to kill his dad and marry his mom. Throughout the game he lusts after older women who resemble his mother.)
(Possible hookup for expansion that explains what this really was, and where it goes after being liberated from Humane Labs)
(Zombies DLC confirmed? http://www.latintimes.com/gta-5-ps4-release-date-nov-3-rockstar-moves-launch-rewards-loyalty-new-vehicles-weapons-268069 )
(Motion captured band performances, similar to Comedy Club?)
Sports: Air Hockey, Basketball, Gym, Pool, Ski Lift
Criminal Activities: Car stealing, Drug dealing, Holdups, Pimping, Fencing (selling hot merchandise), Snitching?
Food: Burger shot, Cluckin Bell, Drive Thru, Taco Van
Special vehicles, buildings, and activities: Car Carrier (Skylift?), Elevator, Eye in the Sky, Metro Station, Tow Truck
Lamar mission icon: Lamar once was planned to be a playable character after the Third Way originally scripted Franklin to die
Unused vehicle categories: Airboat, APC, Combine, Fanboat, Go-kart, Horse, Hydrofoil, Motorized skateboard, Roller skates, Roller Blades, Skateboard
Models: Cognoscenti, Cop 55, Dukes, EOD, Faction, Feroci, Hakumai, Hellfury, Hunter, Marbelle, Police Fugitive, RC Bandito, Sabre, Sea Plane, Slamvan, Tampa, Vulkan, Wayfarer, Willard
Makes: Classique, Progen, Steel Horse, Willard (Yes there is both a make and model named Willard!)
Content that was shown pre-release in 2013
(Also interesting that the Titan used to be white rather than camo)
(Its like the Canis Crusader but with a bigass cage attached to the back)
Voided missions and stangers/freaks
(This was an alternate run of the Paleto Score which was VOIDed)
(The Sharmoota Job (Also known as The Nice House Heist) is a cut heist that originally appeared in the beta of Grand Theft Auto V. It involved Michael and Trevor robbing the mansion owned by Martin Madrazo. The player had to steal a safe, Madrazo's prized horse and kidnap his wife. The only leftovers are the text entries describing the heist, a very old minimap icon and some mission-specific sound files.)
(Horses were part of the cut Sharmoota job, but we will see them return when the Horse Track / Casino DLC is released. See Leaks section for details)
("Player has to return guy home using description of which way to go. bit of info for a pickup/easter egg." Official description of this voided event says it helps lead into an easter egg / pickup.)
("Plant bombs in the underground tunnel. Stop a convoy and detonate explosives so Harrier jet falls through hole in ground then steel it." There are only a few places on the map where this could be possible. Will post a picture of supposed location soon)
(It is possible that all these voided things could be introduced in the re-launch of GTA V in November. Many of these events happen within the storyline, or perhaps after a new storyline is rebooted)
Possible rumors, or maybe just difficult to source info (please help me source)
Looking for more, will post anything I find.
Content that confirms the theory (a.k.a. VALIDATION AT LAST)
(exactly 7 days after Monster Truck DLC was released. Also Vapid logo - Manufacturer is Vapid)
(Of EXTRA special note is the VTOL functionality recently introduced into the game code. With this functionality in place, R* can finally set their eyes on the jetpack, which uses the same functionality to allow for vertical takeoff and landing, and also powered forward flight mode. They may be finished with everything needed for the Alien storyline by November... Or maybe not.)

GTAV Future DLC Roadmap (Speculation)

*I will preface this with: I don't work for Rockstar and everything I'm about to share is completely speculation and predictions.
-GTA V and Online release in April as expected on PC with no more delays.
-Summer 2015 has a few small content updates to online but nothing major.
-Late SummeEarly Fall 2015 - we get a teaser trailer that there is more to come with our original 3 protagonists talking about "one more job" and "how they need to win big" camera cuts away to a Casino filled with people and ends with Michael saying "I know just the place"
-Winter 2015 full trailer releases revealing a single player add on adding more missions, and a Las Vegas Oceans 11 style heist for the ages. The casino area is a new portion of the map or second smaller map called Las Venturas. The DLC will include gambling and a variety of strangers and freaks missions, races, etc. The trailer ends with Franklin saying "if it's so easy, why doesn't everybody do it?" And a flash of online four player heists in Las Venturas is shown.
Summer 2016 - DLC released with both single player and multiplayer heists and missions. Biggest update yet. $19.99.
I realize this is a pipe dream but a man can dream...

What I thought about the story, after just completing it [SPOILERS]

GTAV let me down, on multiple levels. 8/10 just for execution alone though. Will play, for multiple reasons, but it isn't the best it could be, for the following reasons:
No actual underwater heists (see: Italian Job), no Mini Cooper heists (see: more Italian Job), nothing really felt like a movie except a couple things were similar to a couple things in Heat (once in a courtyard, after you exit the building involving the cell phone hack, and earlier on with the armored truck, which didn't even feel like the movie as much as it parodied it...) No dead president masks and bank robberies (see: Point Break), no nothing. No Oceans Eleven, no Mission: Impossible, no Ronin, no Snatch, no nothing. So much potential for these heists, and the very best they could do was the opening Jewelry heist. The whole game should have played like that one mission, but it just went downhill from it, which says a lot after you realize there were only about 3 actual heists in the game.
As a GTA game, it didn't live up to itself either, aside from it not living up to the heists, I wanted choices, and to be FORCED to kill people I liked, because they abused me or betrayed me. I wanted to be mad at them, and angry, and emotional during missions so that I got emotionally compromised and messed up, just running through in a rage shooting everything. I wanted to feel for the characters, experience the betrayal. I wanted Lance to turn on me. I wanted Smoke to turn on me. I wanted Roman to die. I wanted people I had the potential to care about to abandon me, and I wanted to know that characters suffering and enjoy the ride. I wanted to be used by Dimitri. Instead, the only thing I get are people I hate forcing me to do missions, and the whole time I was pretty much just going through waiting to have enough money to play around with stuff, and hopefully kill them off when it gave me the opportunity.
It's not that the missions weren't fun, they were. I enjoyed the experience, and I'll enjoy the sandbox, wobbly helicopters included. It just wasn't what I wanted though.
Non-story things I'm having a problem with are, for one, the Casino. Give us a big beautiful Casino and don't even let us go in, let alone rob it. Thanks a lot. Same thing with the motocross track. Give us an unfinished motocross track we can't fully ride on without wrecking, that's worse than the unusable go-kart track in IV at the abandoned theme park! My TV only had two channels, too, and all 3 or 4 times I stopped to watch it, only had the same two shows on, in very pixelated quality, so that's a let down. So many little things like those, and the unusable train which is scripted to show up at certain times, and the scripted traffic in missions, and every other little resource-saving thing that detracted from the experience. It all adds up, and gets on ones nerves after a while, especially the 3 kinds of cars spawning at a time. That and silly things that don't even make sense, like an inability to customize ATVs or bicycles, as if that would have even been a bother to make available.
It's a let down, plain and simple.
Don't get me wrong though, they included so many things in here that they did right. Tennis, for one. Haven't tried golf, but I heard it was okay as well. No basketball for Franklin, or batting cages, or hydraulics, or anything as fun as that, but you cannot have them all, I understand. I think they did a great job on this game, it feels fairly polished compared to IV and earlier games. Physics is fun, for the most part, everything feels pretty much right. I wish the garages were better, treat all of the cars as it does the special Elegy RH8, I wish the phone would take offline gallery photos to your lifeinvader and not automatically upload them, just little things that bug me, but for the most part, I think the game is very well made, and very enjoyable. Story aside, anything I have against this game is just me being picky, and that says a lot.
All of that being said, as I mentioned at the beginning, 8/10, and that's not considering any future multiplayer shenanigans, which would probably increase that score, but games should stand on their own without that aspect.
That's my post though, I said I'd wait until the credits were over and then be done writing, because I could go on all day about this, but yeah. Those are my thoughts. Anyone agree or disagree with them? Feel free to share and discuss.
